  1. I've done this with an X-Men 1 and an FF 2, both with minor color touch. The CT was so small that when CCS removed it I couldn't even see where the work had been done. Both came back in the same grade, just went from purple to blue. But I've also sent a book in that was C-1 and it came back C-2, so it's definitely a roll of the dice. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
  2. Did the grader's notes mention specific areas of CT? Or just "minor color touch on cover"? (Great looking book btw!)
  3. Never been crazy about Robbin's work, even the golden age stuff, but there's something about the Invaders that is burned into my childhood. I love his artwork on that series and it's hard to imagine that team drawn by anyone but him.
  4. I had to cleanse my brain with a better version of Tigra. Also, Kraven is living his best life.
  5. That explains some recent charges on books weeks after the fact. I emailed asking why I'm being charged this seemingly random amount when the book's been graded and delivered already. No reply.
  6. Right now I have books with CGC, CFP, CCS, and CBCS, so my impatience is spread equally.
  7. It's possible that the person selling it to you doesn't even know it's a reprint. Don't buy it, but definitely let us know what the seller says when you show them a real copy vs. theirs.
  8. Looks amazing. Anyone glean who the bad guys are? And is that Agatha Harkness?
  9. Were they thinking that perhaps it would come back with a qualified label at 2.5?
  10. I'm happy that Disney is making money (from films) because I have friends in the film industry, who have all been out of work. Another producer friend is sitting on a project and is fearful that covid will permanently change how films are distributed (as in, theater chains go under). It may not seem like a big deal, but for her, the disruption in the distribution chain means disruption and uncertainty for financing of films. Also one of my projects has been optioned and because of covid I got to learn a new term: "force majeure."
  11. Wow! Gorgeous book. I'd say 6.5 or maybe 7.0 on a good day.
  12. For me this site is only as good as those who participate. There's a TON of institutional knowledge here that I respect, appreciate, and generally can count on if the need arrises. I've bought and sold books here, but for me that's secondary to the collective experience of the boardies. Also, you can talk about the dirt/insider baseball of the industry that puts my non-collecting friends to sleep.
  13. With those notes, I'd leave it as is. I don't think it could go much higher and might even drop a half point. For eye appeal, you could have it dry cleaned but it still might not grade much higher.
  14. Nice looking 4.5. Looks like it could use some dry cleaning. Hard to tell from the scan if there are subtle, non color-breaking dings that might be pressed out. What do the graders notes say? Is that top staple popped?
  15. It was my impression that he's a full time grader now. I think he would have to be. If he were working for CCS and also for CGC as a grader it would be a huge conflict of interest for him to be grading his own work at CCS.
  16. Has CCS ever posted about their staff? (At least since they've been under the CGC umbrella). It would be helpful or at least informative if the website had a page of "Here's our qualified staff with XX years of experience" so we know who's doing the work. If Matt's no longer there, is it a crew of experts? Is it an intern in a closet? A little transparency wouldn't hurt.
  17. I sent a message asking about why no local pick-up. Of course he said it was because of the pandemic. You knew that would be the answer. I can't believe people are falling for this.
  18. The slabbed Action Comics #1 casually placed in the middle of the other slabbed books -- totally legit
