  1. The comic arrived. Good on my end, finally.
  2. Wait! I didn't think there where any comic collectors left in Montana after I left! There were three of us, now there are two. There can be only one. Well Dr. B you have the official stamp of awesomeness, so I guess you would be the one! I dunno. BleuHawaii's collection is pretty impressive. I'm a little like Richie Ryan to his Duncan McCloud. I need some help from Ramirez. You got more tats. You get to be The Kurgan.
  3. This doesn't make a lot of sense. You sold a book to someone, it's your responsibliity to get that book to the person, not decide to sell it to someone else. Once Jo Seph paid for it, it's HIS book, not yours, it was not your decision to make to sell it to someone else. In addition, it doesn't seem that you ever mentioned any of this to Jo Seph. Did the guy down-under (Jo Seph) get his refund? Did the other guy (Bleuhawaii) get the JIM 83? Can we confirm this? Then maybe you won't go to HOS. Heard back from LongDillon1. He sent me a USPS tracking number and indeed, something is en route. Scheduled for delivery today, which in Montana, usually means tomorrow. The tracking number shows that it was shipped on Monday, just shy of three weeks from when I paid. I'll be happy to get the book. Longdillon will be happy to salvage his rep. I'll let you know when the book arrives.
  4. At the time he had positive feedback from five reputable boardies. Not a ton, but he had obviously done some legit sales.
  5. Here's the sales thread. I was too late on the JIM 83 back in December, but later saw that he bumped his sales post so I thought the book hadn't sold. I sent him a PM on 3/27 asking if he still had it. He responded on 4/8. He apologized for the late reply, said he just got back from Vegas. And I bought the book on 4/11. He said he was sending the book the next day. Aaaannnnnd...I have not heard from him since.
  6. Still no sign of the book and my messages since the 22nd are still unread. Evidently he sold me the same JIM 83 two weeks ago. Paid via Paypal. No word since.
  7. Great comic. A pleasure to deal with. Thanks Jon!
  8. Geez, how did I miss this collecting thread? I just got this back today after a successful color touch-ectomy. It went from a 4.0 PLOD to....
  9. Perfect transaction. Faith in mankind, restored.
  10. Bought this for my wife in tonight's CominConnect auction. She's loves comics. And she's a night nurse...
  11. Bought a complete run of Miller DDs 9.6/9.8. Great dealing with Mark...the packing was perfect and the delivery ridiculously fast.
  12. Picked these up from tonight's ComicConnect auction #59 is one of my favorite covers
  13. I don't suppose that once you get your frames you could see if you could explain to us how they are constructed... a little reverse engineering so us simple people can try and make, or have our own Cage frames made for us? Absolutely.
  14. It was either $1500 or I had to sit through an entire viewing of Captain Corelli's Mandolin while sober. I opted for the $1500. New frames are $299 each, so it's about the same. Though I'll need to pay $5 for a replacement key.
  15. I picked up Nic Cage's ComicLock frames (5) from the current ComicConnect auction.
  16. Just got a few more boxes of Harlan Ellison slabs. FFs, X-men, JIM, DD, Batman, and some misc stuff like Piracy and MD. Here's a bit:
  17. Three more boxes of Harlan Ellison books from CGC. Here's a handful:
  18. These just in...thanks to fellow boardies LoneTree, El Toro Rojo, and Timely. And a bit of eBay just to keep it weird. (I know, there's a GA book in there...)
  19. These just in...thanks to fellow boardies: LoneTree, El Toro Rojo, and Timely. And a bit of eBay to keep it weird.
  20. Just in. A favorite cover by one of my favorite artists.
  21. I can vouch for that. I've had a ton of slabs come back lately and staining has been the death knell of some of these books.
  22. Harlan. Welcome Harlan Ellison's copy of Avengers 4 sure looks great for the grade Fantastic eye appeal for a low grade copy and nice PQ too. In fact the colors on his copy look every bit as sharp as many HG copies that I've seen! +1 I was trying to figure that grade out cus that sure is a sweet looking 3.5! The bottom edge and corner are a little rough but nowhere near 3.5 rough This is a tough one. I was certain this was a 5.0-5.5... I'm guessing the book has already been pressed. The back is crisp, but there are two 1/8" tears and one 1/16" tear...both are hard to see because the book is so flat and tight. And the spine on the front has a bit of wear, but between the pressing and the white paper it's hard to see. The bottom looks worn, but I've seen far worse on 4.5s. Does all of this add up to a 3.5? (The AV#1 is a 3.5 as well, but the two books are like night and day). This is one of the books I'll be busting open to look inside for staining. If it's clean, I'll resub and hope the CGC gods smile favorably on me that day.
