This is a larger club than I would have guessed, several of those slipped my mind. Gorilla Man in particular flew way under my radar!

Nice copy! That month Marvel was changing over from 10c covers to 12c. There were three books that had already started printing when they made the switch, so they did this overprint circle to cover up the old price and then printed the new price (you can see it in the M in the title). It is a really fun and challenging subset to collect.

Last book of the thread! Pep #164 G+/VG-- -- asking $10 + shipping Looks good in the bag, but top staple has blown through cover and first two wraps. Bottom staple is secure all the way through, and top staple has centerfold. Minor stain up by comic code stamp, and stain at middle right edge that lightly affects cover and shows up on the edge of several pages (does not affect art). Also some minor white stains on interior that do show up in art panels but do not affect readability. Other light wear as seen in scans. At the very least it is a beautiful placeholder.

If TOS #9 wasn't my first slabbed pre-hero Marvel it was one of the very first. Bought it at Chicago Comicon ( ) back in the day. Got it from a dealer that also had a slabbed AAF #9 in similar grade. And while I love this book, I've also always kicked myself just a bit that I didn't buy the AAF once I learned how difficult that book was. Also love the JIM #58!
