I learned something this morning I thought I would share with this esteemed group. While scanning a group of Millie the Model for a sales thread I happened to notice the lead story in #107 that might appeal to the denizens of this thread. Overstreet lists it as a Jack Kirby appearance in story, but it is so much better than that.

I checked on flights using miles on American, figuring that with Charlotte as one of their hubs there would be good options. I was sadly mistaken. I’d be lucky to get in for just Saturday, with horrible arrival/departure times and terrible layovers.

Gerry Conway is a great comics guest for this show.

While few seem to collect the title, I always enjoyed reading Legends of the Dark Knight. Lots of top notch stories in that title.

I'd argue that TTA #1 belongs on the Sci-Fi list more than the horror list, but that would just be more quibbling.

Very excited to add all these to the collection, but I will be washing some dishes, collecting aluminum cans, and considering the Seinfeld trip up to Michigan with a box truck full of bottles to return... Sorry, there is no way that TTA #1 should be ranked higher than ST #1 in horror comics. That is just ludicrous. And TOS #1 failing to make either the horror or the Sci-Fi lists is just about as bad a call. Terrible. Three of the top 4 are actually PHM: JIM #1, TTA #1, ST #1. EDIT: Noticed a typo in the rankings for 2019. Looks like the values placed the books in the "correct" order, but TTA #1 is #4 and ST #1 (below TTA) is ranked #3. Weird.

I really wish they’d shift this show even a week earlier. mid-August would be so much easier.

Did you write “walkthrough” on the outside of the box? Last time I subbed an express I read (after I’d shipped the box) that I was supposed to write “express” on the outside of the box so it would be opened first. Not that that excuses how slow they’ve been opening boxes lately...

If it was a misprinted label I’d expect a note on the popped staple. I think they meant to give it blue. Shouldn’t have happened.

With this being maybe the busiest con week of the year, I wonder if there will be any movement on invoices.

Looks to me like the book may just have been folded strangely when the book was printed. I’ve had books like that on occasion, they look like spine rolls at first. From the back cover it looks like the bottom staple is in place, so I’m not sure how you’d get pages protruding at the bottom without the bottom staple being the culprit. The back cover view is the most useful to see all this, and the open edge looks pretty consistent in that view. I’m also looking at the pics on my phone, so YMMV.
