  1. YMMV, but speaking for myself: A) I would qualify for the fee discount if I wanted to jump through eBay’s hoops. That small of a discount isn’t worth the hassle it would bring as a small seller. B) Paying return shipping does not insure that the buyer either knows how to pack correctly or will actually do so.
  2. Maybe I'm a jerk, but why is anyone automatically paying the return shipping on eBay? That just encourages a total lack of accountability for buyers. If it was your mistake you could elect to cover it, but by having a setting of "seller pays" it costs them nothing to jerk you around and costs you plenty.
  3. Good question, they should have announced well before now based on past years. Nothing on their official Facebook or Twitter, but I found this on a random webpage after a Google search (can’t vouch for accuracy, but the dates seem right for this show):
  4. Starlin would be good. I’m putting in my standard vote for Ron Frenz. Other names receiving votes: Bob Layton, Marv Wolfman.
  5. Seems safe to say that the Funeral issues are among the very toughest, certainly moreso than the Death of Superman issues.
  6. You think it’s more difficult than the Action #686? They’re both clearly rare, but I’d gotten the impression that the Action was one of THE rarest.
  7. Should have a handful of books in the mail here in the next week or so. They’re pretty nice.
  8. Most definitely! I agree that we’re close, but discoveries are still being made.
  9. Never thought #100 would ever be worth anything, they printed boatloads. It ended up doing pretty well.
  10. I just checked, it’s been not quite nine months since the last ones: October 14, 2018. Two new ones: Steel #10 & Guy Gardner #26. Page 62.
  11. I think we’re probably close to there, but I also don’t think we’ve even gone a full year during the run of this thread without at least one new discovery.
  12. If only you'd had a picket fence and he had to go through the gate!
  13. I agree, but I guess technically any book that is submitted is scheduled to be graded someday...
  14. “Scheduled for grading” is the new “Received”.
  15. Well, there are definitely worse reasons to miss a con!
  16. The list of these independently derived solutions, namely the new case and this new invoice tracking screen, has not led to warm feelings with those of us who use the service. You can add the change of board software to that list too.
  17. I had a recent signature series sub from Denver stay at Received for about three weeks. Once it switched to SFG it then moved on to QC about the time I would have expected. I completely agree that this change to the invoice screen has probably complicated their lives by causing more calls to customer service. It’s not often that this sort of system overhaul leads to a reduction in utility, leads me to wonder what was so broken or outdated about the old tracking system.
  18. You could see how your first statement might affect the second statement. If the buyer pool spends all their money online why should dealers do the (very hard) work of setting up at any shows? Not blaming you personally, but while online sales are convenient they are no substitute to the superior experience of buying at shows.
  19. Word from the promoters is that they’re apparently wedded to these dates, so barring some change I guess we’ll be there a year from today...
