  1. Count your lucky stars that your modern only took one day to hit graded. I spent 10 at SFG. Not sure who I pissed off for that.
  2. I wonder why? CGC really was fast on my other tiers of books submitted at the same time. But they are crawling on this tier. The book is a Marvel Graphic Novel. Maybe that's why? I have two moderns I had them press, just as an experiment. At very nearly three calendar months, with the books not even at CGC yet, I can’t say I’m impressed. These were finally received at CGC today. So maybe I’ll see them by Halloween. That couple of books hit Verified today. Halloween is still in play. Scheduled for grading today. Glad to have it ahead of Baltimore and NYCC subs. Finally hit graded this morning.
  3. For those like me that don't get into the Gold room as often as I should, here is a thread devoted to the show.
  4. Halfway through calendar day 10, business day 6 of SFG.
  5. Thanks! I wasn’t sure if they’d show the rejects after the prescreen or not, but it makes sense that they’d wait so they wouldn’t get questions about why a book that passed gets added to the rejects later.
  6. Speaking of which, it was not only received but went all the way to verified today! Curious to see how long the prescreen takes. As a prescreen noob, what will I expect to see on my order status page for this sub to indicate pass/fail for each book?

  8. The “Assorted Comics” section of the large Clink auctions ought to just be renamed “Books from my first sub that I thought were 9.8s”. The OP is not unique in this situation.
  9. It’s possible that this is the Friday thread.
  10. I’m for some pictures from this show.
  11. Yet another con Friday where I shouldn’t expect any movement on my subs but I’ll likely check anyway just to be sure.
  12. I was actually surprised at how fast mine were entered in. Tracking showed they arrived last Friday (during Baltimore), and they hit the system on Monday. Wasn’t expecting that, particularly after an on site weekend.
  13. I wasn’t able to make it to WW Chicago this year, the first I’ve missed in about 5 years. I’ve always spent every penny I’ve brought with me on great books. From what I’ve heard about the show there were fewer of the smaller local dealers this year, which is a step in the wrong direction. Also, news from Wizard itself is that their focus is evolving going forward. That doesn’t bode well.
  14. I don’t believe I said or implied that Wizard deserves to go out of business (I said Chicago deserves a great show). I have attended many of their shows and WW Chicago has been a jewel on their schedule. That being said, Wizard has long been shifting away from comics, and their business plan going forward is apparently doubling down on that strategy. As a fan of both comic shows and Chicago I just want to see this town continue to have a marquee comic show. That may continue to be Wizard. If not, I’d like to see someone else step up to fill that void.
  15. Just realized that this is the same weekend as Denver. That show is excellent, so my decision is made. I do hope this show does well and has potential to be the eventual summer replacement for Wizard that Chicago deserves.
  16. I tend to do it by checking my invoice page way too often, others may have a different technique.
  17. My thoughts exactly. Table cost is about a third of Wizard, but of course it’s also just Sat-Sun. It’s going to be interesting to see how this shapes up.

  19. After a weekend CON with onsite grading and encapsulation , This is normal. Also They may not update the system as fast I was surprised to see a status change on my modern sub today after Baltimore. Hoping they receive my prescreen sub soon too (I know it was delivered thanks to tracking, but waiting for it to hit my screen).
