  1. Hey Doktor, As Publication dates they were scheduled to be released today. So they should be out as of 1/6/16. I am sure you will hear something very soon from your supplier. Carl
  2. Quote: Many completists don't consider convention books to be part of the "core run" of a title. That's why few convention books ever catch on. Even the UXM 500 sketch covers top out at $5-600. I think the fact that this book looks rare on the census and is a JSC cover is what keeps it going. I am a completist, but only for the 1963 X-men to Uncanny X-men as of now. I have to tell you that Campbell just did another Uncanny X-men Variant cover and they are a colored and sketch for the Uncanny X-men Vol 4 #1. They are also part of the 2 cover connection to The extraordinary X-Men. I bought both colored and Sketch and I do consider them to be the core run, Unless they did not come out at the same time. I will also Get 2nd and 3rd prints for my collection if they make them. Here is the new Campbell covers if you have not seen them. Will they be worth anything? I have no idea, but I still ordered them. I love his art work.
  3. It can definitely benefit from a press but I'm around a 8.5-9 pressed. I asked the seller for a better pic of the bottom edge on the front cover and the request was just ignored. Makes me think there's a bit of imperfection there that can't be clearly seen from the way the book is pictured. Still waiting for someone to post up a 9.8. Let me get mine graded. I really want to know what mine is now. I have a nice raw copy
  4. That dent in the back cover, That looks on the book not the bag. Crazy what they asking for it. I have a question for you guys. I would like to get my book pressed. I guess I have to send it to that pressing service from CGC and then I can have it graded from them? Do I have to be a CGC Paid Member to do that? And the turn around on a book like that is what? 3-5 months? I am so curious if I can pull off a 9.6 with mine or even a 9.8.
  5. $2800? Makes me wonder if I should sell mine. I have to get it graded though.
  6. Whoa! $2,100? Maybe I should put mine in someplace safer! OK the more that I look at this current auction, I would be very cautious. Just seems funny to me that a 0 bidder retracts $2,200. More will pop up, Jump_ace, Wait for your 9.8. You know as soon as you pull the trigger, someone going to post one. I would think that if this really does sell for $2,100+; more will pop up. That's what happend to the 297 Gold Pressmen Variant. its not the Holy Grail anymore. ( although some seem to not agree with me on the boards)This has really taken over. But the Pressmen Variant does not sell like it used too, 3 are listed now and way under the $1500 bench mark they once made. Good Luck guys!
  7. Your welcome, And thank you everyone for the compliments. If I were to get it CGC I would feel it would fetch me a 9.2. I feel this because you cannot see the right bottom corner, has a little ding. But, I know that CGC is ok with the Pressing of books. I bet if I get that ding pressed or removed. It would hit about 9.6. I think there is 1 little spine ding, but its very small. So she will not fetch 9.8 status, Its a great copy and I would hope you guys can find one someday as well. I will try to get it CGC soon. PS. You guys ever get freaked out sending a book to CGC that's kind of your 1 and only?
  8. I have the book, and its not graded yet. I got it from SD in 2009 at a Question Panel that I had to answer questions for. From what I have researched over the years, and its been 6 years now. Please take this as still researching the truth from Vendors and people I have talked to over time. From what I understand, about 500 were sent to SDCC in 2009. And of the 500: 350 were damaged in route to the convention. I have been told it was water, and smashed boxes. Only a 150 with out major damage made it to the convention, but many had some creases and spine cracks. Of that 150, only about 50 were above 9.0. Again this is just DD I did on my behalf. So I could still be missing info on how many were out there. I am not sure the worth of mine but its beautiful. At the time I did not realize it and I guess I got lucky. My pictures can not do it justice. I Need to get it CGC. But I just have been lazy. To me this is the my personal Holy Grail, ( I only collect 1963 X-men ---> Uncanny X-men. Good luck on finding the book guys, its a Gem if you can get it. Edit. I need to take better pics. blah!
  9. I suggested spending money in better ways, you attacked me. I made a point on how I look at things. You getting upset and name calling on a message board suggests that I may have made a valid point. I am going to take this no further, so please continue to name call and chat on this matter. You will only be talking with yourself. Planning on going to Comic Con? We can meet and chat then if you would like? PS. My Metals went to all time high in 2011-2013 2013 was an awful year to be in metals, but I'm sure you meant you made money by buying put options on all of the precious metal ETFs. Look, I have no problem with stocks. But if you are going to come to a comic book chat forum and tell everyone how stupid they are for buying comics and how brilliant you are for buying stocks at least have the cajones to name one stock or one mutual fund that you think can outperform my stack of FP 1's. I Never called anyone stupid. What are you talking about? When it comes to financial, you have to do your own DD. At no time did I offer any advice. I just stated a person can put money in other things. I gave a few examples, You guys love your comics. I love the ones that I buy for myself. I treasure them as much as the next guy. I only collect one comic line. So I only know whats worth of what I have. I made money in other revenues to pay for my books, and to have nice books. I am not turning this into a "Spoon" size competition. I will live my life, you and everyone else can live theirs. I think its wonderful you have such nice books. Things you treasure and your right to enjoy them. Seriously, please hope you have a good day and enjoy.

  11. Put your money where your mouth is, windbag! Gauntlet thrown! How fast can you sell that book? All I have to do is push a button on my computer and or walk into a metals dealer and I have instant money, Or call my broker! If I need cash I have it right now. if the economy tanks, I can sell precious metals. If the stock market is good, then I can sell my stocks. When the economy crashes. Who the heck is going to buy a comic book? If you have a daughter or son who needs medical attention and you have comic books to sell? You have to find a buyer... I can sell my metals, sell my mutual funds, sell my stock, take my money out of savings, faster then you can list that on comic connection. You want to toss a gauntlet? Call me a windbag? Do what I just did with thoes books In a critical situation? Go back to the economy 2008-2009 and sell thoes books! I made money on metals then when my mutual funds fell. And I bought in low on the market with mutual funds that year. I am one of these windbags that bought Ford stock when it was $1.43. I sold it at $17.00 last year. Buy low sell high. I never said comics are not a investment. I have books that are rare too. But I buy them for me. Have a good day
  12. Uncanny x-men 510 sketch. Less than 100 The rest were damaged on the way to comic con.
  13. Mutual funds are long term. Yes market is high. But would put my mutual funds against what ever comic collection you have anyday. Let's see who gets money
  14. When it comes to investment in something like a comic book, I do not believe books of this stature are investments any longer. An investment is something you buy low and sell high. If you can't see a way to double your money or at least take a profit. Then it's not an investment. Take silver, gold and platnumim. In the past 10 years it was a great investment, but as of late it's dropping on a daily basis. I infact have lost in that market. And with the market low metals are again a good investment. you have to look for books that are rare. Giant sized X-men 1 is not that rare any longer. People do have them. I have an uncanny x-men 510 sketch variant that I consider an investment. Here is a book I got comic con in 2009? For answering some questions at a panel. Now the book is worh over $1000 for even 9.4. Mine is a 9.6 FYI the gold 297 pressman variant is not as rare as the 510 sketch. To me that's the new holy grail of Uncanny X-men. You need to buy low and sell high. Personally. Save your money. Unless you want a keepsake. Open a scottrade and put it in a Roth IRA. Or a IRA. You will thank me later. Ps. That picture of all the x-men 94s. That pic alone could drive the price down for that book. Shows they are in abundance.
  15. 203 pages in; We can @#$@ all we want. Poor guy got hosed, and CGC don't care, and never will. This is just a fact it will always be like this.
  16. This part is up to all of us. PGX trashed their rep, the Vault is still new and I haven't heard of any concrete proof of wrong doing. The problem isn't with CGC in this aspect but rather all of us. For every 10 of us that say, screw CGC lets try the Vault or whatever new company pops up, there will at least be another 10 who best case scenario, don't care and keep going to CGC. People are so used to them that it's next to impossible to dethrone them. CGC didn't create monopoly, we the consumers gave them one. Someone has a PGX book we laugh and criticize, same thing with the Vault. We created this, it's our faults. I'm just as guilty, if I wanted a book graded, I go to CGC because people seemingly lose credibility if they don't. I fully agree with you, we put them on the top, Quick Story, I met a man once who worked for Princeton one of his job duties on the side of being a professor for the university was evaluation of OLD books. He had 1000s of these rare old books that were probably worth more then our Comic collections combined. After I left his studio/Office, I thought to myself. These are the kind of guys who could make a killing on grading comic books. They know more then any GCG grader could possibly imagine. But then again his books were from the 15th century and stuff, or something like that. He said lots of people like him do this. But then again my second thought would be that it’s overboard and not really his area, But hey get a few of those guys and start a company with the education and background, CGC =Done. But thats my opinion
  17. Sorry man you got hosed! I have my own issues with CGC, but all I can do is just take it like the rest of us. CGC does what they want regardless. Until someone or some company comes along and kicks them off the high horse. They have a monopoly on the whole grad thing.
  18. Well we now know Loki is running Asguard as Odin. Sif says, " Odin wants her for his guard or something. And I obey my king." Loki playing Odin and wants her to build an army for him. Mae, working for Fury, if she was not, she would have not said " this is Agent Melinda Mae" on the phone.
  19. Funny how people come here to complain about a show they don't watch,or say they don't watch.
  20. Not sure. This is just info for those who don't follow the show: This was only his right leg. He had a stub about halfway down the thigh. This 'Deathlok' program device was put on the stub and it transformed into the remainder of his leg. It looked cool. He was already augmented by other technologies to give him more strength. He is currently taking orders from the 'clairvoyant' and it is safe to assume that if he doesn't follow orders, there is a kill switch/explosive in his brain that can be remotely triggered. How long till they find a way for him to rid himself of the kill switch and become his own man? how come the clairevoyant didn't know of the other lady who had a cyber-eye that they were taking it out of her? Good Catch, did not notice that, However, I feel, Deathlok, will be electrocuted , shorting out all of the stuff in his eye and making him free of whoever is running him.
  21. Well they explain some, but not enough for me. Yep they going to drag this out. I don't think we will find out until last episode or even Until "the Winter soldier" One thing, he's not fully human anymore.
  22. I did not realize until I saw the episode 10 promo that they filmed the show in Long Beach 3 weeks ago. The bridge, that next to my work at the aquarium, was used for this episode. They filmed a few big explosions on the bridge. We were standing on the 3rd floor but had no idea what they were filming. The movie industry uses this bridge all the time. Transformers 2, Dexter, Hangover 3 etc. but it's kind of cool now I know what they filmed.
