  1. there's also another tear on the bottom and color loss around Jean's elbows and hair on the edge.
  2. I really think you have to clean and press this first. Just two examples: the white price box and and pink corner box area have issues that can probably be fixed, same for the crease going across the "S" in Spiderman. There appears to be some dirt, dust, soiling on the pages besides just the oxidation and humidity damage, those repeating horizontal lines on the page edge, it's not common... this book was probably from a very humid area and was certainly stored terribly. I don't feel entirely ready to give you a number until it's C&P'd.
  3. I can't tell what's going on with the top staple. I think absorene could clean off the grease spots.
  4. It really needs a cover page pressing and some light cleaning. No doubt it is high grade, but how high cannot be seen until the folds and creases are flattened out. The back also, of course, but outside of that dimple between staples I don't think it's an issue as much as the front, since the hope here is that it could grade above VF, or even above VF+, but I have to question that until a pressing
  5. Wow, you guys are grading high. I wouldn't even consider putting this anything near fine condition. I have many books like this I grade as VG.. There are other significant issues here not just that staple rip.
  6. How do you know they aren't relevant? They are still relevant.
  7. letters page seems quite dirty. this is a big book and i wouldn't want to attempt to grade it without a clean, and your first image is not a scan, so...
  8. 7.5-8.0 has some deeper flaws than 8.5 peers generally. https://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/search.asp?FocusedOnly=1&where=auctions&title=spiderman+8.5&ItemType=CB
  9. 7.0 is high range for oxidation. There's too much of it to guarantee a 7.0, in my opinion a dip to 6.5 is possible.
  10. needs a clean and press, probably 6.0
  11. Since you asked, I don't think so. But it has decent value as a readers' copy, lots of those who have slabbed ASM 4's want reader copies.
  12. the moderate wear under top staple makes it a 8.5/9.0 for me. the mark in the price box, can it be removed?
