  1. Nope, no tunneling going on, just aggressive searching!
  2. Years of wait for a decent copy of this are over:
  3. Awesome. I've been looking for that book in that grade forever!!!!! Congrats!!!! For anyone that hasn't read this story....it's one of the greats from the Silver age Superman stuff
  4. A tough issue to get in presentable shape:
  5. There are a bunch of nice horror books listed on Comiclink right now...are they the books that traded hands in San Diego already? Very agressive prices.
  6. It's a good question, and one I have asked DC war collectors many times. I do know one collector in the midwest who has a full set of DC war books.... and he's been collecting for many, many, many years (ie, was buying 10-centers off the shelf and still has them in his collection). I also recently sold some books to a collector on the east coast who says he is 5 books away. Chris Pedrin is rumoured to have two complete sets. There are a couple of DC completists who, by dint of having complete DC collections, must have full war runs. By my estimation, ten... maybe 15 complete collections of these books. Hard to say, though, because there are enthusiastic fans of these books who operate outside of fandom in general. I hope to have them all in about 5 years! I'm actually enjoying these early books much more than I had anticipated... there are some very, very good art jobs in them. Shep Why would Chris Pedrin own 2? That's somewhat mind boggling! I guess automatically we can count Ian and Christine since they both own "all DC's". I would guess your right, maybe a dozen? Even that numger sounds high considering some of those books have to be pretty scarce. How many books in total make for a complete big 5 collection?
  7. I applaud the completist in you. Any idea how many total people have completed a big 5 collection?
  8. Some recent catches. Some of these are a *little* pre silver age, but I'm sure you all wont mind
  9. Nice!!!! You been holding out on me Steve!
  10. Love the B&B! mind if I ask what grade you think it's in and what is cost you? What a great book!
  11. Last for now, my favorite of these four. First of all I LOVE baseball covers, and this is one of the better ones. Anyone who collects DC from this era (1957) knows how notorious some issues can be to get in nice shape. This copy seems scarcer than other issues from the same time frame, and is nearly impossible in this grade. Issue 57:
  12. While this isn't one of my favorite covers of this era, this is a particularly nice copy, and the deep green colors are a change for the time period. What you see on the bottom is the CGC tag behind the backing board. This is an 8.0 CR/OW copy. Issue 54:
  13. I really love this 53, got it from eBay last year and was thrilled with the condition and the BONE WHITE pages. Love the Superman cover:
  14. I have been really lazy and havn't scanned anything in awhile. Here are a couple of Superboy's (I don't *think* they duplicate ones scanned previously). Superboy's number in the 40's-60's are my absolute favorite of the run. These are from a notoriously hard period to get nice copies from. Let's start with issue 51:
  15. Love those WF's...I need both of those issues!
  16. First time I have seen alot of those covers!
  17. Just like Adv 248! and Superman 132 ...
  18. Just awesome Ian! And to think you are holding back!
