  1. Your absolutely right, a set of B&B 1-24 is a great accomplishment...in any condition! I agree that the Silent Knight stories are very good, I particularly like the one in #15! Congrats!
  2. Nice group! I’ve yet to procure my first Shock, but I know it’s just a matter of time!
  3. Beautiful book Ken. A stunner!
  4. I can’t say I’m familiar with his work outside of Brave and the Bold, but I loved his work on this title.
  5. My 9 is a really pretty 7.5. It’s a cover I really like due to the colors and the Silent Knight. I would post 10, but I know Brad has a pretty special copy of that issue.
  6. If anyone who likes this thread isn’t a member of the EC Fan-Addict Club group on Facebook I would recommend checking it out, it’s very active and a lot of cool posts there.
  7. The number seven is a really great cover, I love the colors of the book and the two Silent Knights. I’m actually on my second copy of this one, a 7.0. My first copy was a 6.5. Why did I upgrade a 6.5 to a 7.0? I forgot I had the 6.5 🤣😂 That’s why lists and databases are so important, of course you have to refer to them too! Brad should post his number eight too since mine (while once) is his under copy.
  8. BB 6. I bought this one years ago. Up until about a year ago I used ComicBase to track my collection (why I stopped and what I use now is a another story). ComicBase for some bizarre reason kept showing the value of BB 6 as some insane amount many multiple higher than the surrounding issues. I didn't have a copy at the time, but felt like I needed one ASAP since I had no clue why it was valued so high (like 3-4K in fine). I found this copy somewhere, most likely CLINK or Heritage and jumped on it, probably paid a few hundred. For awhile this was my lowest numbered issue, then I got the number 1. Anyways, nothing really special about this issue other the the fine people at ComicBase thought it was special
  9. On to #5. I have a number 4 that is not as nice as Brad’s. I can’t remember where I got it though or how long I’ve had it. I just picked up this number 5 from a sale on the boards last month. This issue begins Robin Hood which if I recall was picked up from Quality Comics and just started it’s own DC run in it’s own title. I liked these stories, though not quite as well as Viking Prince and Silent Knight.
  10. I bought these from the same person I recently got the CSS 22 from. I bought them on behalf of my brother who is really not a comic collector but has told me he would love to buy some EC horror books. A nice bunch of great books. I looked through the CSS 27 and thought the inside front cover text was cool (EC throwing in the towel on crime and horror comics).
  11. EC’s seem to be going up in price in all grades. Has that been everyone else’s experience as well? For awhile the HG stuff seemed to have to real growth (check out GPA, many books are selling at the same level of 10 years ago) now though it seems like a lot of books are breaking old records.
  12. The last book I acquired was my 15th EC. I want many more 🤣
  13. Most of the EC's I have purchased have been graded, but I picked this one up recently. I really enjoyed (carefully ) looking through it and checking out the stories. It's my first issue of this title. I have the Russ Cochran reprints of all the sci-fi stuff, so it was cool to look this one over.
  14. The art was awesome, DC sci from the same time frame was pretty good too. I was surprised to see how much the code affected the stories between WSF and ISF.
  15. Except the stories don’t pack the same punch.
  16. I sold all of my DC’s and started collecting Marvels...
  17. Brave and the Bold #2. I think this is one of the more difficult to find issues of the pre-hero lot (which probably means the whole series). One board member here has a ridiculously nice copy I offered to buy a number of times but kept getting laughed at I ended up with this nice mid grade copy only in the last year. I’m glad I got it because a 7.0 came up a couple of months later and went for almost 3X as much!
  18. There are a number of issues that are harder to find, not all but enough to make it a challenge for a high grade collector.
  19. Owning a B&B 1 has always been a kind of grail to me. I never really thought I would get one. Then around 2008 I put a Hail Mary bid on one in an eBay auction and was pleasantly surprised to win it. I sent in in to be graded to add to the set, it’s a nice looking copy. This was ten raw. It’s a 7.0 OW.
