  1. I fell in love with the 52 pagers when I first started collecting comics in the early 70’s as well. I had just missed them being on the stands as I started buying comics in 1973. The Brave and the Bold was one of my early favorite series, so these are all kind of sentimental to me.
  2. Slow going on the pre hero B&Bs, but I’m past the halfway mark
  3. DC has some good books in the 60’s, the Legion was really good. Most series had some good stories, just not the consistency from issue to issue that Marvel had.
  4. That Wonder Comics 15 is a cool book!
  5. I really like all three of those covers, the 21 is one of my favorite in the whole run.
  6. There are actually three black covers in the 20’s, I amazingly have all three:
  7. It’s funny, I said I wanted at least a 7.0 but I settled for this nice fine-. Like your originally stated, it’s a really tough book, I couldn’t pass up anymore chances at owning a nice copy.
  8. Now I wonder what awesome books I will have acquired in the next three to four years.
  9. Funny when you look back at these old threads. I now have Sugar and Spike 1,2 and a Superboy 1
  10. Thank you, here is the rest of the run (with apologies that these are not all GA, but the series started in the GA) I post the back covers because something unique to these books is that there were no ads and some of the back covers are pretty cool:
  11. Every issue was number 1 since they didn't have numbers LOL
  12. The 7.5 I thought would be my keeper for life has been quickly replaced: I’m now on the hunt to replace four lower grade copies of the run to have a very solid fine or better set of the whole series. An interesting fact I learned along the way. CGC has the first two issue totally messed up in their database. In the census they had the 1950 issue (#1) listed in the 1951 slot (#2). My #2 says first issue on the label...and Heritage kept referring to #2 in the previous sales of number 1. Maybe it’s a coincidence that both companies had them reveresed, but it makes me think that Heritage has a direct data feed to CGC’s census. Either way I think I was able to point it out to get fixed now.
  13. I collected a complete nice run of these a few years ago. While the interiors haven’t exactly called out to me, it’s a pretty nice run, and there are some cool covers, especially later.
  14. Really happy to get this Rudolph 1 recently. Sole census highest, goes nicely with my census highest number 2 😎
  15. I know bill999 was tracking them but he hasn’t been on in awhile. I’m pretty sure he also had a 15 cent MH 22 graded 5.0. The one I’m not aware has surfaced is a Josie #1.
  16. Kinda neat too, I strung a few in a row, check this out:
  17. Okay, kind of a milestone for me...my 70th issue in Project Sugar and Spike
