Ok, this question is about ST115 and not St110, but I thought this thread would be the best place to ask....

I have an ST115 9.4 and when I check GPA there has not been a sale since 2013.   Since GPA doesn't show all sales data, does anyone happen to know the prices of any 9.4s that have sold recently that weren't submitted to GPA?

Last one I saw sell went for $6,600. I don't recall however which auction house or exactly how long ago.  2 years ago maybe.  Anyway, I noted down the price at the time because I have the pacific coast 9.4 copy myself.

A nice looking copy of this magazine here, but is there ever a bad looking copy?

Was there a warehouse find or something for this book as there appears to be a ton of copies in uber HG condition?  hm

A little hazy on the details here, but I think I heard the Pini's had some copies held back that they sold a couple years ago, and a number of them showed up on ebay graded 9.4 - 9.8

  3. Watched the whole season yesterday.  I enjoyed it and would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.  It had some plot problems, but nothing bad enough to ruin the enjoyment for me.  I'm glad to see they made progress with the Danny Rand character. He was a lot better here than in Iron Fist season 1.  Some might not like the slower pace at the beginning, but I enjoyed playing catch-up with the characters, bringing us up to speed on their lives.  The biggest downside is, with only 8 episodes, the slow start left us with a more simplistic and brief conflict.  It would have benefited from a few more episodes and a further developed story line.

  4. Reporting on some books I was watching in the ComicConnect auction that closed last night:

    Strange Tales 110   9.2   $27,500    http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=719270

    Strange Tales 115   9.2   $4,657      http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=719650

    Strange Tales 126   9.4   $2,655      http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=660292

Stronger prices than I was expecting after the Dr Strange Movie hype has come and gone.  Particularly the 115 (origin issue).  I was hoping to pick up a 126 at a discount from the pre-movie prices, but no such luck.

  5. I finished the series and the stand out for me was poor writing.  I'd compare the whole season 1 of Iron Fist with the last episode of Luke Cage, which is to say, it was very disappointing.  Acting overall was 'ok'.  Danny Rand/Iron Fist didn't seem like the character I remember from the comic book at all.  The fight scenes didn't compare well to Daredevil, and they really needed to shine to salvage the show from its bad writing.  If you are undecided if you want to watch it or not, don't bother, at least not this season.

Lets hope the writers do a lot better with Defenders.  Another stinker like this and I'm going to drop netflix I think.  I could watch bad scripts on regular tv, if that's what I wanted to do.

  6. I really liked it. The story was good considering the ground it had to cover and still have a villain, a conflict and more. I'm a pretty hard core Dr Strange fan, and I didn't feel it went too far from the source material for a present day movie adaptation. While it would have been cool to delve deeper into how the mysticism worked in the books, like the invoking of extra planar beings for their powers, they did touch on it just a bit, and you can only do so much and move the plot forward. Some of the effects were like nothing I had seen before on screen, and really were at times reminiscent of the silver age books. First movie I've seen since Avatar where I thought it really was worth seeing in 3D. I think it deserves the 91% it has on rotten tomatoes, and if you see it, definitely see it on the big screen in 3D.

  7. Its DD1 > Jessica jones > DD2 > Luke cage for me, which as me worried about Iron Fist, since Netflix/Marvel have done nothing but go downhill since DD1 in my book.

As to the question about amount of action, its not the action that hooks or loses me, its the plot. Too much obvious, too many stupid holes, and I just cant do it. I will say Luke Cage had some surprises mixed in with the bad and obvious, which along with the sweet soundtrack made it work for me. Still, dead last of the Marvel Netflix offerings to date for me.
