  1. A small haul from this week (including an unread ASM run from 298-325). There's also a huge run of NM+ of Witchblade, Fathom and Darkness I know nothing about...
  2. Thanks! There are about 550 SA books from the early to mid-60's in the collection (a lot of westerns and DC War books) and another 300 Dell and Charlton from the same timeframe... I like the Avengers-4 and FF-12 books:
  3. Thanks everyone! It certainly was an exciting collection to look at. Here's a pic of the Hulk-1:
  4. I this cover. Reminds me of the movie "a bridge too far", which I LOVED as a kid! I thought it was a reasonable buy considering it went for GPA from June 2017.
  5. I love both books, but I am partial to the Cap-1 (love the iconic cover) :
  6. Here's a sample of a few books I picked up last night (I seldom run into early DC but this is the 2nd collection I've seen this summer but this one also included a few Marvels I like). There was a bunch of Batman, Action, Adventure, JLA from 1-30 and TECT's from the 50's, 60's...
  7. I just discovered this lovely change earlier as I had a large shipment of books delivered around 1:00-pm this afternoon (that I tried to unsuccessfully re-route multiple times prior to). Bottom line: Fed-Ex left the box of books on my uncovered porch with no signature and they just sat there for hours while I worked and eventually came home and retrieved them around 6:00-pm. I'm glad it didn't rain today as it was a quite expensive batch of books (B&B 28; Batman 121; Strange Tales 110; ASM 300; Harbinger 1; Showcase 8; Adventure Comics 247; Action Comics 242; Superboy 68; etc...). CGC can get the 'no re-routing' part right but I would rather they get the delivery signature confirmation correct as I avoided a big headache earlier today... AND... If I was able to re-route to a local Fed-Ex facility like I wanted, my package would have been safe and sound even if it rained, just like I wanted it! I'm guessing it will take something terrible to happen for CGC to re-evaluate this nonsensical policy.
  8. Nothing to exciting... Exchanged a few e-mails and then met for several hours prior to agreeing on the deal. It was an older gentleman's collection and he only liked DC at the time and quit collecting in the early 60's after starting in the mid-to-late 50's. As a result, there are a lot of Batman from 100-200; Action 200-300; Adventure 200-325; Lois Lane 1-50; Superboy 50-150; Jimmy Olsen 30-80; Showcase 6-50; Superman 95-150; TECT 225-350; Blackhawk 90-200 and a lot of early Green Lantern, Justice League, Metal Men, Challengers of the Unknown (1-10); Flash, Aquaman, etc... Thanks again and sorry the story wasn't more exciting but it's the first time I've run into an all DC collection from the 50's so I wanted to share.
  9. Just picked these up in an OO collection (there's A LOT more to go through):
  10. Picked these up recently in a 600/700 book all-DC OO collection:
  11. April-2016, $288K. You are correct. Man does time fly...
  12. I must be missing something. Didn't an 8.0 blue label sell last year for basically $290K? Has the book appreciated that much since?
  13. These books belonged to a man whose neighbor gave them to him prior to moving out of state decades ago (they were the neighbor's son, who was an artist and why he kept the books). They sat in a box until recently when he recently decided to sell them. Sorry about the lack of information but this is all that was shared with me. I asked on the spine tape and the buyer didn't know.... But he did tell me he has a bunch of big little books from the 30's and 40's he is interested in selling... I guess that magazine is the 1st appearance of Marilyn Monroe (it was a throw in on our deal).
  14. Found these in the wild earlier today!!! I'm pretty happy (but wish a lot of the spines were not taped, especially because the majority didn't need any reinforcement)... Sorry for the picture size! I'm still trying to figure out this new format/forum... Cheers!
  15. Thanks Sgeggs... I have a few more from this collection at CGC that will (hopefully) push for top census.
  16. That's a crazy price for a 2.5 but I guess I'm not in touch with how much movement Cap-1 continues to see...
