  1. Thanks Bill. We are on the same page with Caps in the 20's. I'm particularly fond of 26-28,but there isn't a dog in the bunch of 20-29 IMHO. (LOVE this cover...)
  2. Hi Rick... How about this one? You can only pick one book from the above list that you feel will appreciate the most in the next 5-10 years, which one would you choose? and which book would be 'runner-up'? Ok... I guess that's a two-book pick 'em.
  3. I didn't have the money but still Congrats to whoever picked that up! Well Done Bill ~ Excellent pick-up. That book is a stunner.
  4. (thumbs u Anyone have any others out there? Here's my copy. It's one of my favorite Schomburg covers. to this cover. What AWESOME books fellas... Congrats!
  5. GREAT books! Grats and love the Subby #6 (& the others aren't too shabby either )...
  6. I was following that one as well. I actually sold some nice books to fund the purchase. Very annoying. How nice was it? That's a bummer b/c I was watching that book to see what the final strike price was going to be. Absolutely love that cover... Here's the link: Cap-37. Hope that link works...
  7. 8250 and I'm outa the club nice That detached bot staple keeping it down, looks way better than a 5.5 The staple didn't appear to be detached BUT there was a 2.5" spine spit between the staples (thumbs u That's why I never CPR it myself, that was my plan 5 months ago. The problem is when you go to press it you chance making that spine split even more. It will be pure luck to get that book bumped.I didn't feel that lucky Good info to know....
  8. I'll take 'beaters' like that all day and twice on Sunday (thumbs u ! Great book and acquistion.
  9. I keep coming back to these shelves, they are just awesome. Can't think of a better way to store and display your books at the same time with such little space. Awesome shelves (thumbs u ! Do/can they accommodate CGC books as well?
  10. What's the comic that is 'glared out' by the camera pic? I'm having a hard time guessing what issue that is... Awesome cases, btw, making me think about doing the same thing... (thumbs u
  11. Thanks guys for the compliments; I appreciate it... Now that you mention it Cat, Subby is 1/2 the size of the u-boat. Can't wait to get the book as it's already shipped, and you're right Straw, our books are very similar (great book, btw, and AW9 is an awesome cover ~ one of my favs). (thumbs u Gator - I'll trade you this book to complete your '6.0 mini-run' for one of those books on your wall of 'GA goodness' you showed in another thread [Ok, maybe I'll have to throw in another book or ten.. .]
  12. Here's a pick-up from last night (borrowing the seller's scan since the auction just ended). While not HG, this is the book that pulled me into the GA so I wanted to snag one since they infrequently come up for sale...
  13. No problem Scrooge, here's a cleaner scan for you to upload: Thanks again guys.
  14. They are definitely not very common. Many of them I've only seen once. As for whether they're collectible, that is pretty subjective, but there do only seem to be a handful of diehard collectors who go after them aggressively. It also seems to vary from issue to issue, depending on the cover art or the content (i.e. what it's a reprint of). I will tell you one Bell comic that I really wish I had snagged when it turned up (and this is the ONLY time I've ever seen it) -- a Junior/Sunny reprint called Deena & Gwenny. Thanks again for all of the information/insight. I bought this book, along with a few other GA books last night, and couldn't find any info about it so I purchased the lot hoping this book in particular was somewhat uncommon. Thanks again! (thumbs u
  15. Here's another one that I just got back from CGC :
  16. If it's from a splash then it would be one of the interior stories of the same comic. No, you're right, L.B. Cole did not often sign his interior work. Does it say Bell anywhere on the comic (such as 1st interior page or back page)? Thanks guys for all the input ~ I appreciate it. It does say Bell on the back cover. Are these books collectible or just basically common reprints? Bell is shown here on the b/c: And here's the 1st page interior: Thanks again for the help guys!
  17. Doesn't get any better than this as Scott is a GREAT guy to deal with. Super fast payment; great communication and hope to do business with in the future!!! Thanks again Scott for the purchases!!! (thumbs u - Dave
  18. Cool - thanks Gator and Ciorac. It's my first Planet Comics to add to my collection!
