  1. Bats1 > Caps1. Past. Present. Future.
  2. I got a warning cause I let Cal know the OA for IMSM1 was going to be auctioned off on HA.
  3. its stolen property-like hot potato the last guy holding it hasta return it. If there's link to who sold it an arrest can be made. Don't think it's that linear but ok. Anyhow, I wouldn't expect the book to show up for many months until it's long forgotten. But who knows. If he thought of a way to make the switch he'll think of a way to dilute it into the market.
  4. CGC has been notified. What good will that do ? Submitter can say he bought it from a myriad of places/people. Cash transaction. Like so many. Then what ?
  5. especially when you can see past sales results on same page as listing
  6. that boardie @Cliff R. posted in General and that I had never heard about. http://comicbookplus.com/?cid=1507 For those that weren't aware of the site, enjoy !
  7. These days, I would say that was holding on to a book for a long time flippers and speculators are destroying this hobby
  8. Luckily for you and for GPA not all major dealers/auction houses report. Bob Storms had not 1 but 2 Batman 1s listed on his site a few months back. Go find them or click on the link in the article. https://itsalljustcomics.com/2018/03/14/highgradecomics-com-lists-batman-1-cgc-1-8-for-125000/ Oh ... that's right ! The listing(s) is(are) no longer there cause the book(s) sold. Btw, this 2.5 had recently received at least 1 public offer of $106,000 and it was not accepted. Why would seller settle for your offer of 85K then ? Just as it is in your right to offer what you want (please remember to do so privately), it is all within the seller's right to ask what he wants.
  9. I've asked them to end auctions on books I'm interested in now ( at current bidding ). They're thinking it over.
  10. Sorry to read this. What is important is you and your family are safe and ok. Your collection was lost but can be rebuilt. Life cannot.
  11. At one point their "restoration" bordered on artistic "recreation". There is even a "variant" edition of Action 10 out there I believe they have since toned down their "restoration on steroids" stance.
  12. This one on the other hand I'm pretty sure is an IGB production https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/detective-comics-33-dc-1939-cgc-apparent-nm-94-extensive-a-5-off-white-pages/p/7192-60016.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 The book has been offered on other venues before.
  13. Out of respect to consignor's wishes, I can only post relevant info on the book post auction. It's a terrific restored copy and we'll leave it at that. It is certainly not an IGB-like monstrosity.
