  1. It's personal taste, but I think the ongoing debate is that many people think getting a book signed adds some extra value to it, when the reality is, you shrink the market for people who want a nice condition Silver Age CGC book. Many collectors simply don't want a signed CGC Stan Lee book, even though they may desire the book in the grade it is in. Even more collectors don't want a signed book that Stan had nothing to do with. I would argue that, look at the GPA results of signed versus unsigned by Stan Lee Silver Age books he has worked on. It also depends on the quality and placement of the signature. If Stan signed on the first page, it would not limit the interested market, more likely help it.
  2. Sorry to confuse some people with this posting. To clarify, I added replica covers to Action 46, 53, 66 and 68. I also have replica covers on Action 19, 25, 27, 29, 34, 36 and 54. I have one Action 64 that is complete and one that has a replica cover (making 12 total with replica covers). I also have Action 31 and 33 with replica covers and a couple dozen more coverless Action and Superman comics. All the rest have real covers and interiors (16 copies). I could use real covers to replace replicas or recommend someone who could help you with your restoration need.. How did you add the replica covers? The coverless comic is just laying inside of the replica cover. Replica cover is on a heavier glossy stock which looks pretty good if the scans used for printing are good. I didn't remove the staples or rebind anything. Which Action 64 (i.e. Toyman) do you like better? Probably the top one from the angle in the picture. Colors are a little richer.

  4. Thanks. I also have my golden age Superman 1 that needs completing.
  5. Anyone have the letter page from the end of Superman 1. CF or cover? I have half of the centrefold. Hulk 1 and FF 1 cover?
  6. Thanks! Hopefully a facilitator takes on this show soon. Need enough time to ship my books down from Canada.
  7. Anyone doing a private signing with Stan Lee in the next month or so?
  8. main variable would be pq. That would drastically affect value imo So no "right"'answer Any chance of providing a rough range.
  9. Looking for: CF, last page and cover to Superman 1 Covers for both Incredible Hulk 1 and FF 1
  10. I have seen the GPA for both a coverless FF1 and Incredible Hulk 1, are these desirable books in coverless format and will they continue to increase in value even though they are coverless? Is GPA an accurate representation of their value? They seem to be more desirable in this format if they are signed by Stan Lee.
  11. Hey Gator, Any value in coverless or incomplete GA and Silver key books?
  12. I am currently only reading Action and TEC and the occasional Super-Man. I have given up everything else.
  13. You're not the only one, although I was surprised too that it went as low as it did. I picked up a Ninjak cover he did for Valiant at ECCC this year. It's also an ink on vellum piece. It's currently at the framer, and like you I'm interested to see how the mounting/framing works out and how well it holds up over time. Guess we'll see! Ninjak #12 Cover: Mike Big fan of his work. I commissioned him to do Wolverine for me. Who would you consider the best and most reasonable artist today to do a Wolverine commission (X-men cartoon version, cross between Byrne yellow costume and Jim Lee yellow costume)? Do you want someone that has worked with Wolverine or just any artist? Ideal is someone who has worked on him. Jim Lee is not an option and Byrne is too expensive for a X-Men figure and don't always know what you will get.

  16. What would you rank as the 10 best golden age Superman/Action Comic Covers? Based on cover only and not content.
  17. In honor of the Tick i say seventy eleven . Just seems like a number he would come up with. But really lets go with 34 . When is the giveaway? I want to play a little Price Is Right.
  18. He has been in a couple movies Mallrats!!!! "Oh, lots of women. Jagger and me, we had a running contest to see who had the most. In fact, last time I checked I was way ahead." I'd say he is, but I'm not sure I would count it as a celebrity signature short of having him on something for his relevance in that context (Mallrats magazine). True, In this case he signed a spidey comic. He's appeared in every Spidey flick...hell, every Marvel flick since 1994. Not every Marvel flick, he wasn't in the most recent FF movie.
