  1. Who cares if you got a strike, relax a bit, take a breather and try again in a month. "I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record. Oh yeah? But don't get so upset, did I happen to mention that I'm impressed."
  2. The notion has been expressed from A-Z by many boardies that if you can't follow up with an equally generous offer than you shouldn't participate. If you consider your offer generous, subjectively based on your personal financial standing, but it is objectively much lower in value, than it's not an excuse either. Read my sig line chumps.
  3. As opposed to, let's say, an odor? Speaking of carpet bombers....is Roy attending SDCC this week? Yes, working on his BB moves :: Oh sweet sweet Roy; he forgot he was Canadian.
  4. Your making it seem like people have to post up a ASM 300 or a ASM 129 to get an offer accepted. I didn't and my offer was taken within 5 minutes. A good offer will always be taken quickly no matter what it is comprised of.
  5. No one ever seems too afraid to take high quality offers.
  6. Maybe you feel that acting as the moral majority in this thread is the way it works. What exactly is your motivation to continually fight for the little guy? As many have said the purpose of this thread isn't to allow everyone and anyone to take an offer and follow with junk. Yes I understand some individuals have less than others but than those individuals should not participate in the thread where values of offers are higher. There is the PIF where offers are lower valued and more accessible for everyone. Why exactly do you think another thread needed to be created.......I'll end the suspense, it's because of the actions of members that you appear to be campaigning for. Also, I'm much funnier than cricket.
  7. Straight up my man. Since we're giving opinions I really think that Megan Fox should become my second "Big Love" type wife.
  8. Claudio - I need you to just take a step back and think about this for a second. That's nice of Meeklo to offer up something for free. (thumbs u But he was vetoed and got a strike so there comes with it a penalty. That penalty is a one month suspension. That includes RAK's whether that is giving or taking. I'm going to enforce the rule if someone tries to TAKE an offering as well so I'm just being fair both ways. I don't know why this is a difficult concept to understand. A one month suspension means just that. There is nothing preventing Meeklo from coming back in a month and offering up the same stuff free again. Again, what motivates that rule? What I don’t understand is this idea of generosity. This is simply a thread about exchanging material. Generosity does not need rules, and does not need to be visible. It is not about generosity, why can't people get that? Don't use the thread title as the crutch to express the notion. It's about members who didn't want to keep being taken advantage of in the PIF thread. This thread does not have a mandatory participation clause. If you don't have anything of equal or higher value to follow up with, don't take an offer. Lastly, Meeklo claimed he had nothing but his RAK had 5 different cool options that I would have gladly taken. If he posted that as his offer he would have been golden.
  9. Some people need to get thicker skin. Sarcasm is this forum's fuel.
  10. That stinks. This place can be like a minefield in transactions. More and more I stick to established boardies with a solid reputation that precedes them. That's it. A guy with 8 months on the boards and less than 100 posts selling books under value is chock full of red flags. It does suck it for newer members who aren't derelicts but thems the breaks.
  11. No. The offer with the WD compendium and the Chog vinyl sat awhile but that's only because the right member needed to come along. Great offer just waiting for the right boardie. This last offer will get deep sixed and hopefully the guy will post something better.
  12. Private veto is much less rewarding than a public flogging.
  13. That Chog is super awesome. Cool offer. (Thumbs u
  14. Behave Barth. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."
  15. The sig is Howard Chaykin, cover and interior artist.
  16. Just wanted to let everyone know the kind of guy Dave was, he doubled his donation to a foundation that is very personal to me. I love this place. Mike
  17. Alrighty folks I'll list a few books that should hopefully tickle someone's fancy. Pick one: GA fans: Captain Marvel 52 Bronze fans: Star Wars 1 SS Modern fans: Kick 1
  18. I'm watching Orange is the New Black with Wifey. Give me a few to post my offer, I won't let you down.
  19. Can I choose the charity for option 2? . Yes. I was keeping with a comic book theme, but absolutely ok as long as it is a charity (as opposed to a PAC). I'll PM you the link and I guess you can send Swick the reciept.
  20. Can I choose the charity for option 2?
  21. I see that you said he already missed his deadline, that's a different story than.
  22. This has arisen before. If you work out a payment deal with the boardie, outside transactions shouldn't matter. Maybe he asked to pay you in a couple weeks because he knew he committed to another book and only could take yours with that stipulation. He may be a complete tool who will never pay, but until that happens the payment schedule you work out only needs to apply to your transaction.
  23. I would have worked it out with the seller and not advertised this here. +1 And that would be protocol. Why not pose a question to the boards, like 1,000 whiny babies do daily, and see what the consensus is? After recieving feedback, he can decide how to proceed. No names were used, he didn't even criticize the seller.
