  1. Looks like you have to use the "Titles & Descriptions" option When you type in "pennyworth" in the search box, a couple of options appear to select and it gets you there (Pennyworth collection books are already in the Heritage archives from today's auction results)
  2. It was a CGC 5.5 Compare that with a CGC 5.5 at Heritage back in 2009 that went for $717 (a 2.0 at Heritage in 2008 also sold for basically the same as this copy - $448) You may not be that far off Tim, with a CGC NM copy fetching bucks. The highest graded CGC copy (an 8.0) sold at ComicLink, back in 2016, for $2,433, so a CGC 9.4 could bring close to the numbers you were mentioning.
  3. One way to see it, is go to the drop down box on top and select "Sold" items and in the search box type in "quick draw" then on the side bar menu select sort by "Auctions" (see the RED square boxes I highlighted below)
  4. To be honest, I didn't know anything about the Roy Rogers annual until this thread. It is kind of interesting that Overstreet states there are seven known copies (CGC census is currently showing 12 copies - 11 universal/1 restored. Highest graded Universal is 8.0) The 8.0 copy sold at Comiclink in December 2016 for $2,433 Overstreet also seems to give the book it's own historical market tracking in it's listing- "A copy in VG/FN was sold in 1986 for $400, in 1996 for $1200 & in 2000 for $1500; a FN+ sold for $1,650: a GD sold for $448 in 2008; a FN sold for $717 in 2009 and a FR sold for $156 in 2015" (no notation for the 8.0 CL sale in 2016) This must have been Bob's "Fantastic 3" back in the day!
  5. I don't know how much more could have been done to give proper exposure to this collection. ComicConnect did give the collection a name ("Quick Draw") and highlights the auction as soon as you get on their website. The videos done online by the consignor, including the one with Vinny, seem to give adequate promotion. And, these CGC boards have given the collection it's due props, with this ongoing thread. I don't think CNBC or USA Today would be knocking down Vinny for an interview though. It's a nice collection that probably has gotten the appropriate exposure. Let's keep in mind, the last time ComicConnect seemed to over hype a rare Canadian comic. Maybe a little less hype is a good thing.
  6. Could be the key to the whole deal! (hopefully, it's from the Action 1 and not from Vinny's tax return!)
  7. Sold for $368,000 this past Friday Nov. 13th Story: https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/movies/2020/11/15/christmas-special-rudolph-figures-auction-368-000/6302519002/
  8. Is "13" really "13" above? Or is the second "11" really "13"? And is "13" really "15" and as Jimi would sing if "6" was really "9"? Or is "13" above actually "13" but it is an ugly "13"?
  9. No clue what this is in reference to. If you are saying David Copperfield performed some magic on it and made it go from purple 7.5 to blue 5.5, then OK. The famous Action 9.0 started as an 8.0, so I guess everything is an illusion! Where is tth2 and his love for the hobby quote?
  10. I think this was the closest Heritage - August 2016 - CGC 5.5 @ $956,000
  11. If Dave the Dentist didn't own the Mile High Pep 22 & Archie 1, it would have been interesting to see what CGC would grade and what an auction would bring. Maybe not a million, but interesting...
  12. These boards and its members, in a word, are......AWESOME! Never cease to AMAZE!
  13. if you've never seen his original comic art gallery, it's pretty incredible - https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetailsearch.asp?aty=1&gcat=5149 And no surprise he is NOT related to someone with a completely different last name. Sorry SLINK. Did not know. Brave & Bold 34 OA cover! If you told me it was in a "gallery" owned by a guy named "FISH", I would think of one guy!..........WRONG! Thanks for the clarification!
  14. Better watch it Tim, you may come under attack!
  15. Christine Farrell. Her name has been mentioned here in the past on the boards (especially by Ian!) Polar opposite of Ian's approach. Low key, under the radar. Here was the Scoop write up on the completion from 2004 (name not mentioned. Neither is gender. Does that even matter?) https://scoop.previewsworld.com/Home/4/1/73/1023?articleID=46453
  16. Here's the discussion (link) prior to it going up on Comiclink almost exactly a decade ago (late 2010). Comicdonna, it is listed on Comiclink as sold for $150K. The more discussions change over a decade, the more things stay the same! https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/203503-hulk-181-cgc-99/#comments

  19. I would be surprised that the owner/consignor is being charged (or deducted) any commission fee to Heritage. The "privilege" to auction off a high end/demand piece plus the competition with other auction houses (namely ComicConnect) probably got any commission fee waived for the consignor.
