  1. This passage intrigues me. Judge Gaffey, who tossed reporters out of a pre-trial hearing in September in the case, concluded that barring the public from yet another motion hearing is “the only way” to safeguard Majors’ rights. He agreed with a Majors lawyer, Seth Zuckerman, who earlier told the judge, “We believe that the disclosure on this one limited issue would taint the jury pool beyond repair.”
  2. I'm going to say that Baldur's Gate 3 has brought me (and many gamers) back to D&D's Forgotten Realms. I foresee this getting 'bigger' but they need to keep the budget in check. Heck, Hallmark even made a Themberchaud ornament this year. https://www.hallmark.com/ornaments/keepsake-ornaments/dungeons-and-dragons-honor-among-thieves-themberchaud-ornament-with-light-2499QXI7547.html
  3. Continued tracking of my 50 piece personal collection's value for insurance purposes. I am utilizing eBay sold items (with auctions taking priority over buy-it-now) to determine FMV. January to February 1.94% decrease February to March 4.25% increase March to April 0.82% increase April to May 2.53% decrease May to June 2.08% decrease June to July 4.19% increase July to August 1.63% increase August to September 1.67% decrease September to October .13% decrease October to November 4.01% decrease
  4. New comics should be $2 each maximum and feed into the corporation's media plans. (write off the loss as R&D or marketing and save on taxes) It should all be one vertical. Instead of a $250 million dollar Secret Invasion series...produce a series of comics available for free that feeds into the next movie... Then give comics out at the movie that continue the story until the next media event. Heck, put coupons in the comics that have to be cut out to use at retailers for discounts on toys or videogames. Also, only single titles / lines. No more 12 titles a month for Batman...or various X-Men and adjacent characters. Start producing them like series. But none of these are going to happen and the industry will get worse and worse.
  5. Bring back James Spader as 'Ultimate Ultron' and have it explained he is the puppet master behind the idea / technology of 'Kang'.
  6. I've had one 9.9 after a decade / 100s of comics submitted. But holding the 9.9 slab in my hand taught me what to look for in raw comics moving forward. Four sharp corners, lays flat, and parallel centered staples. (meaning the staples were both centered equally along the spine) Hope that helps a little. Good luck. Also, walkthrough press and grading if you are that confident.
  7. Brie Larson was so good in Short Term 12. (which was directed by the director of Shang-Chi) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhS6tvSb0UQ and also in Room (which she won an Academy Award) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_Ci-pAL4eE That being said, I am not a fan of the choices either she made for Carol Danvers. Whether it be the script or Marvel mandates the lack of 'character' development in the first movie and her subsquent appearances have not delivered on the emotionality I know her capable of as an actor.
  8. @CGC Mike Any word when the next wave of labels will be unveiled? Also, the timeframe before current ones are vaulted?
  9. The studio executives still think this is going to go their way in their terms because they have a disconnect from reality. They are used to having layoffs and closing divisions and restructuring for better leverage… They need the stars to be in their movies or TV shows to sell ads or to bolster their streaming platform to then sell the toys / merch to fuel the theme parks… I mean…if I was Sony I’d be the most worried…isn’t their contract with Marvel that they have to have a Spider-Man movie in theaters every X number of years?
  10. Binged it this weekend. It took me until the reveal about a certain character and then the finale to make me realize that we were watching X-Men: First Class but swapped. Professor X as the Mutant Liberator Magneto as the Humanist edit: loved the series until the ending which I wanted just a little more mise en scene to explain
  11. I love the idea that a group of CEOs telling the people that they need to act in their media that they are presenting a 'Last, Best & Final' offer. They are so used to treating all their other employees poorly that they forgot that they are the ones that need actors to star in the media that they want to produce / distribute / make record breaking profits / bonuses off of. Honestly, there is so much media out there that this can go on for another year and I wouldn't be upset.
  12. Joined these boards over 6 years ago. First submission and first post. Cool?
  13. My Neil Gaiman book shipped. Now the wait begins for the next McFarlane opportunity.
  14. I've a couple of Harley items... My copy of Mad Love that was signed / remarked by Paul Dini from last year's CGC signing. (Bruce Timm's signature was there from a previous SDCC signing) Also signed by Bruce Timm at SDCC was the base of the 1st run of the Harley Black & White statue. Here is a copy of Batman: Harley Quinn signed by Alex Ross. Finally, here a sketch classic costume Harley by Jock. (I wanted / envisioned this to be a companion piece to his Detective Comics #880 cover)

  20. Just back from being reholdered and adding a custom label...
  21. Got my Stephen Stills doujinshi back. Newest edition to my personal collection (shameless plug for my cgc journal) CGC quality control did end up heeding my note that since it was a manga and put the spine to the right...
  22. Incredible Hulk #340 purchased graded (but not signed) in 2014 As mentioned in my Amazing Spider-Man #300 post, Incredible Hulk #340 was my 2nd most desired book when I got back into collecting in 2010. This copy was purchased as a 9.6 Universal via a VCC. It was priced below market value. I grabbed it even though I am not really a fan of newsstand copies. As the years went on I realized I wanted a to submit it for a Todd McFarlane Signature Series opportunity. Glad I finally got it done, but honestly upset the book came back a 9.4 afterward. You win some, you lose some...
