Tales From The Crypt Annual #1 (1992 TPB from Gemstone collecting 5 EC issues) SOLD for $40-$75:
Halloween Fever? Or actual trend?
-
Armorines Vol 1 #0 (the first issue) had a print run of 250,000. Armorines Vol 2 #4 had a print run of 2,200. And those 2,200 copies were not well preserved in the Valiant-Bust years. Most of the Armorines Vol 2 books I've been able to find in the wild look like Jimmy Olsen books from the silver age, condition wise.

My guess is that the foil Superman comic pictured above is some kind of counterfeit or fan-made variant, and not an official DC release that nobody here has ever heard of or seen before. That just seems the most likely explanation to me, but having the book in hand would answer a lot of questions.
There were some counterfeit marvel foil variants made in 2007, so the technology exists. See this interesting thread: http://www.comiccollectorlive.com/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=6948

Here's an obscure title that's seen some sales about cover...
That sale seems to be a fluke, though. There is another set listed currently for only $15 and plenty of solo issues available for relatively cheap.

Looks like it didn't even sell for $2300. Relisted for $2000:

still searching dollar bins for Peter Panzerfaust #1, experts were sure it would end up there.
I bought a run of PP 1-5 out of a $1 bin last November.

...and ebay selling is a huge wildcard!

Just sell them as a "lot".
Yes, this. Even if they are non sequential issues, Walking Dead stuff will sell as a lot, and you won't need to bother discounting them to 60% of their value. Unless you need to get rid of a huge number of duplicates, an itemized lot is the way to go.

Why can't idiocy like this ever happen to one of my auctions? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-1-Sold-Out-First-Print-2013-Signed-Alex-Ross-560-600-Sealed-/181094177824

Also, Hawkeye still going strong. Issues 1 and 2 selling for about $20 each. Sets of 1-7 for as much as $112. The TPB is coming in 2 weeks, which should put a damper on things.

Scarlet Spider #10 has been selling for up to $16 on eBay this week. Your results may vary.

Hi guys, lurker here with three PP #1A's, and a healthy stack of #2-4. No one who isn't a speculator has ever heard of this book, and if you don't think there's at least a chance prices on this could crash and burn just as quickly as they have shot up into the looney sphere, I have some Youngblood #1's I'd like to sell you.

I had a couple of unexpected sales this weekend: After being listed online for about 3 years each, my Harbinger (1992) TPB signed and numbered by Jim Shooter #/2000, and my Magnus: Steel Nation (1994) tpb both sold to different buyers for $19.95, and $14.95 respectively. Not exactly a windfall, but these were among the longest lasting items to remain unsold in my online inventory. Might be a coincidence that they both finally found buyers this weekend, but it might also be evidence for a general uptick in interest in Valiants across the spectrum, based on the quality of the new Valiant relaunch.

But looking at this minuscule print run for issue 6 I would tend to believe the earlier issues were well below the 5000 print run. Possibly even below the 2500 numbers.
That's fascinating, thanks for sharing this info. Maybe Tales #5 isn't the lowest print run afterall. I can't believe those early issues had such low distribution. I certainly feel like I encounter copies of the 1st printing of #1 way more often than other aprox3k print run titles from this period (Bone, Strangers in Paradise, JTHM), but #2-6 may indeed be that scarce - I hardly ever come across them in bins. Very interesting numbers, if accurate.

There is a Special Edition for #18. Not sure of the print run on it.
I think an ebay listing mentioned 500 copies. Maybe for sale at a convention or on their late-90s website?
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
