  1. Yeah, that's a sweet 9.0. It looks nicer than any of mine, but I was thinking mine looked nice enough to get a pretty good grade. I know that sometimes CGC has been a little more lenient in grading GA books so I was wondering what I could expect on mine.
  2. Thanks for the link. That's what I was looking for.
  3. Got a favorite from the run? I really like 8 & 11 because of the illustrations on the back covers
  4. I just bought a whole collection of these. I thought I'd put a couple up here to get an idea of grade. I get the idea that it's hard to find high grade copies of these because the paper quality seems to be much less than regular comics from the era. #5 Moby - slight sun shadows on both the front & back covers. Cover is secure at the staple. #8 Arabian Nights - the tiny tears at the top & bottom of spine probably happened during binding (it's a thick comic).
  5. Have you ever bought a slabbed copy? I was just wondering if CGC is a little more lenient with their grading on these since the materials are such low quality (the cover stock is very low quality)
  6. This is my favorite of the run because of the back cover. All of the others have boring back covers.
  7. Does anyone actually collect these? I'm sure there's always someone who does. I never really cared about them, but I recently picked up a fairly nice collection of them so I thought I'd post a few pics. Not all of these are 1st ed, but they are all early editions. I think #8 (Arabian Nights) is the first of the 1st editions and that one is my favorite because of the awesome back cover. Paper quality on Classic Comics seems very low. It's got to be nearly impossible to find them in super high grade, although most of these are pretty good. Sorry if there's already a Classics thread, I couldn't find one.
  8. I just remembered something about the movie that I wanted to ask here. I saw the movie twice and I am pretty sure I heard Thor (Hemsworth) say some thing like "I'm looking for me mate" which is something an Aussie would say, NOT an Asgardian. I can't remember the scene exactly (it was on Sakaar) or who he was talking about (I think he was talking about looking for Banner but I'm not sure). Did anyone else hear that or am I wrong? I think Taika allowed the improv to be loose and free on the set but to allow a "...me mate..." into the dialogue is unforgivable.
  9. Yeah, sorry about that. Have you ever had your finger hovering over the "enter" button, not sure if you should press it or not? That's how I felt as I started the thread. With all the crazy drivers and accidents I've been seeing in the last few "shopping days" the thought popped into my head that even though my wife knows I have pricey comics, she really doesn't know anything about my collection.
