  1. I wouldn't even pay $1 for the original art page to this. So much wrong with it.
  2. I asked him if he still had the clipped MVSs.... and he said yes. He said he has the MVS booklets. He'd find them and call me, and give them to me.
  3. A buddy of mine was at his job a couple days ago and a coworker mentioned he wanted to sell his childhood comics and buy a nice guitar. My friend instantly thought of me and now 2 days later I own all of the comics. This is why you tell ALL of your friends that you collect, because you never know when one of your friends will find some comics for you. The guy originally dug out his Hulks 180/181/182 last year and sent them in to CGC after he saw an article about how valuable 181 was. As a kid he unfortunately clipped all the Marvel Value Stamps out (I can't blame him because I did the same thing). Here are the 3 Hulks and some other goodies I found in the 2 long boxes of musty comics. They are all fairly low grade but maybe a press will bring them up to 3.0-4.0? They're fairly "musty", but at least they don't smell like cat pee like some from the last collection I bought.
  4. WHY did you post this cover??? I can't un-see this. Ugh! Also, Crystal's head looks weird
  5. Wait, what? This was an actual "look" for a while???? If this is what the Thing looked like I am not interested in that storyline.
  6. Possibly the WORST drawing of the Thing I have EVER seen. When did the Thing get square ears??? This is a real representation of the Thing, nothing has been done to him (like magic, etc..). And what's the deal with the two rows of rocks that come up out of his pants and go over his shoulders?
  7. I couldn't resist this one (I feel like I got it pretty cheap.... $250 + shipping). I used to have a 7.0 and stupidly sold it. Definitely one of my favorite covers of the Golden age. It unfortunately has the interior to Superman 9, so now I have to find a coverless 14 and a cover for 9.
  8. I'm looking for the pinup page from ASM 3
  9. Gotcha. I didn't know about that. I just checked both of mine thru that and they're both delivered. If your delivery conf # shows "delivered" thru the USPS site, but not thru the CGC site..... then yes, that would cause anxiety.
  10. Mine are stated as "delivered" by my USPS confirmation #, not by anything that CGC has written anywhere. Has your submission not been confirmed by USPS or FedEx or whatever shipper you used?
  11. They are now "opening submissions delivered the week of May 3rd" That's so long ago. I sent in 2 separate submissions, both about a month ago. It's really disheartening to know they were delivered, but to not see them posted on my submissions page. I don't think that's a good business practice on their part cuz it creates anxiety for the customer. I would rather have the piece of mind seeing my submission has been received even if the TATs are way higher.
  12. I'm guessing someone desperately needed a CF.
  13. You were close...... it closed at $5300
  14. 6.0 = $46,000 7.0 = $50,000 7.5 = $75,000 8.0 = $147,000 (13 months ago one sold for $23,500)
  15. So..... when your kidneys fail and they find a donor for you and perform the surgery to save your life, are you a complete Human again, or are you just an assemblage?
  16. I married a CF into this Cap 1 because it really really really really felt good. The comic is complete now. It's not that complicated.
  17. Do all the CGC graders know about the flaw? (I believe there's a lot of new graders) Do they have a database that lets them know about every comic's inherent idiosyncrasies? I have a lot of experience in comics, but If I saw that mark I would have thought tiny "water stain" and graded it downward. That's why I love the boards. Knowledge.
  18. And then there's....... (drum roll please)...... Loki. I could never figure out why JIM 85 wasn't going for more money. It was under valued for SO long. Wow, that has changed. I think Loki's value is here to stay, and not just because of the new series. He's simply become such a beloved character in the MCU.
  19. You can get a 5.0 Xmen 1 for the same money. So which would you rather have...... A nice Silver Age mid grade Xmen 1 featuring the 1st appearances of many A-list marvel characters, or a 9.8 of a Bronze Age Strange Tales 169 featuring the 1st appearance of a C-list marvel character? Don't get me wrong, I like Brother VooDoo but.......
  20. Welcome to the wonderful world of 2021 values. Just a year ago it could be had for $4000
  21. I found a CGC 9.8 171 (3rd appearance) sitting on ebay at $400. I was like..... this seems WAY too low for a 9.8 of the 3rd appearance. So I bought it.
  22. Has the record sales for ST 169 (Brother Voodoo) affected 170 or 171 or any of the other BV titles in the ST run? A ST 169 9.8 has now sold for $27,000 I scooped up a 9.8 ST 171 (3rd appearance) for a mere $400 a few weeks ago figuring there might be a trickle down effect. It's amazing that in just 2 issues the value would be separated by that much.
  23. I ran across this old thread and I thought I'd revisit it. Serling I hope you didn't sell (did you?). A 9.8 of ST169 has recently sold for $27,000
