  1. Are we gonna one of these every three or four days? Why you frontin' bro? He'll cut your head off!
  2. I bought some books from Buzz, great communication and packed like a champ. A pleasure to do business with.
  3. Good stuff! (thumbs u Yugoslavians must have the worlds largest hands or the worlds worst eyesight, that ASM 129 is ginormous.
  4. Yeah, these things can be a crapshoot. I'm quite happy with mine and I think it looks way better in person than the pictures convey (as these things often do), but I'm aware of the issues. I actually passed initially as well, but Sideshow had a portion of their regular stock redone, and they recently popped up on their website. The one I got is from that new batch, and thankfully, it has no real issues. This has been a concern of mine re: sideshow. I keep hearing tales of bad paint jobs and production flaws. I really want to get the Green Lantern statue they put out a few months back, but again, I read about some production problems. COI, do you order your sideshows direct from them? Or do you wait to pick them up on the secondary market? And have you ever experienced any paint/production issues yourself? Here's the thing: the statue community has a very picky vocal minority that tends to harp on even minor things, while many satisfied people don't speak up. Sideshow has had some issues with pieces in the past, and because of the detail of these pieces, complications are bound to happen. But the complaints among the community tend to lean toward the extreme. I try to buy most of my stuff from Sideshow. They have a no-hassle return policy and will even send replacement parts when possible. I have purchased more than a dozen from them directly, and the only real problem I had was with Spider-Woman; her head went on flush, but then was very difficult to remove. After fiddling with it for a while, I realized that I had to simply pull and twist it a certain way and it came out easily. It would have potentially been a problem with someone who is less patient, as they could have easily broken one of the strands of hair while attempting to remove the piece. That's what I figured. I also agree about ordering direct from the company, just for the security of knowing if there's a problem, there's a good chance they can fix or replace it. My Bishop statue came with a very tiny but noticeable chip on his face. Bowen covered the shipping both ways, touched it up, gave me a small refund, and mailed it back in under 2 weeks. I'm sure I could have snagged one on eBay for cheaper, but these statues are very fragile, intricately detailed, and put together by 9 year old Chinese factory workers. there's bound to be a few messed up pieces in the bunch.

  6. The base matches your faux bronze DD statue, that's reason enough to buy it and display them together. I saw a beautiful white re-paint of that statue on one of the statue forums, it looked outstanding.
  7. Great statues you got there. However... for your future uploads, please do one thing for broadies here? Flip over your pictures before you post them here. Not all of us like to flip out our necks or flip over our monitors too often. Are they showing up sideways? They look normal on my screen. I'll figure it out eventually. I'm hoping to learn how to embed a video by 2020!
  8. Last one for the night, then I have to go back to pretending I like my in-laws. Merry Christmas!
  9. I love this statue, even though Drac is huge compared to the average Bowen. Can't wait for Frankenstein to be released...
  10. Thanks Justin, I wouldn't even know how to post oversized pics without your help!
  11. I'm still new at this, any tips on how to make the pics a little less gargantuan?
  12. I'm officially sick of my family and Christmas at this point, so I figured why not post a few pics. First up, Iceman (clear version) and Dark Phoenix.
  13. , all these gifs of modern George. Let's see some copper age Clooney, maybe something from his Roseanne days?
  14. I could also get behind requiring a phone number to join (or maybe just to be able to sell), or a credit card. Anything that mitigates all the crappy sales and general noob shadiness would brighten this man's Holiday Season. :forme: +1
  15. What makes you say that? DC has gone out of their way to bury Wally and re-establish Barry as THE flash.
  16. I've never heard these words uttered. It was a typo. I meant to say "I like ramen noodles". Stupid auto correct!
  17. yuck to all things Ramos. The best thing he ever did was get OFF the title. I figure that's how most people feel about Ramos. Tbh, I really didn't like his art at first, but over time it grew on me a little. His cartoony style works for Spidey. That being said, he wouldn't crack my list of top artists to work on ASM, that's for sure.
  18. I was wondering if that was the same Gman, he does seem to have a knack for finding statues for people. I may have to send him a pm...
  19. Woohoo!!! A hobgoblin thread! He was THE spidey villain when I first started reading comics, and he's always been one of my favorite baddies. I'm probably in the minority here, but I like what Ramos did with the Phil Urich version, including the bat wings and big flippin flame sword. Visually, a very cool representation of the character, IMO.
  20. I don't own it, but it's definitely a sweet statue. I DO have the modern wasp with the same shrinking effect, and it's certainly eye-catching. The two biggest problems with the Ant-Man deluxe statue, it almost never comes up for sale, and when it does, the price starts around the $500-$600 level, which is a little nuts for a 12 inch statue, imho. There is a regular Bowen Ant-Man statue, it's exactly the same with the same base, just doesn't include the cool shrinking effect. I've been looking for a Doc Ock Bowen statue for a long time now, came close to pulling the trigger on one at comic con yesterday. But the paint job was kinda messed up, and for the $ these things cost, I'm pretty picky about things like that.
  21. Rupp's books were so well packed, and shipped so quickly, that if I walked in my house and found him simultaneously kicking my dog and having his way with my wife, I still wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again. The added bonus book was like a pinch of pepper on a substantial meal. Great seller!
  22. You're a madman. It's more of I am a loser thing. I started playing this game on June 23, three weeks and played 150 hours. That's a addiction or OCD problem if I ever saw one. Well, Skyrim is super addictive. I remember playing 40 hours over 4 days during the Christmas holiday (2011). Nice! Great game Bro, so much more to do, quests and stuff that I still have open. Not sure why they would put the final dark brotherhood achievement a few quests before the end of the quest line. Apparently, the "radiant quest" system in the game continues to generate quests even after you complete the main quest and all the different guilds. So it can literally go on forever if you want it to. Finished all the Skyrim stuff including the DLC gamer score stuff accept one. Defeat a legendary dragon. Only problem for me is they start spawning randomly when you are level 78 from what I have read online. After completing the entire game....I am level 58. I remember a lot of board members said that they played and loved Skyrim....who has beat a legendary dragon? Well that's 190 hours I will never get back. [/img] Gahh! All I need is that legendary dragon! I'm lvl 64, and the sonovagun still hasn't spawned for me.
