  1. Look at the low grade Kid Colts in the 90's go for $50+ each! These bidders are insane !
  2. Anyone on the boards buy the rat chewed RK 17 for $212? Westerns seemed to be coming in vogue again. Sold my low grade lot of TGK and RK for over $330!
  3. I seem to recall someone mentioning a great Kirby drawn TGK story in that book.
  4. I put in a buy order 10 minutes after it was listed and lost out.
  5. won't be long and you can just plug an action figure into that 13 hole. We need an emoticon that shouts "I AM GROOT"! (thumbs u
  6. anyone else think Jack was inspired by the cover of Tales to Astonish 29 when he did this cover?
  7. awesome book. Do you have the matching RK 17 to go with it?
  8. pickings have been rather slim lately on the Bay for decent silver age westerns. At least westerns with Kirby covers. I'm about ready to list my 2.5 copy of Two Gun Kid 60 just to see if the interest is still out there. I still have a 4.5 copy left as well. This thread might float better if Hemi-GTX hadn't defected to pre code horror, right Monte?
  9. Looks like George Tuska was the first on the Skeleton's list.
  10. Love that #60, but the rest isn't much to speak of really. No decent Kirby Rawhide Kids, no Kid Colt 100 or 107. Still fun to look at though!
  11. pages were not visible at all. Contacted CCS to see if there is anything that can be done, although, unless you have a "paper stretcher" I don't see what could be done to fix it. I sent Matt Nelson some pics last night.thanks!
  12. this would be my "grail page". Splash page of Chapter 2 from TGK 58. Would second mortgage my house for it.
  13. bear with me. I'll get the hang of this again.
  14. On a lighter note. The notes for my TGK 61 were attributed to the Gunsmoke Western 58 that I had slabbed. The notes on the Gunsmoke state that it is the 2nd appearance of Matt Hawk as the Two Gun Kid.
  15. I will never again, have a book pressed. Of the 5 books that I had slabbed, I only had my TGK 60 sent to CCS for the obvious reasons. I was hoping to improve the grade. This was the first and only time that I'll do it. The cover is noticeably shrunken from it's prior state. I wish I had taken a before photo. I will post photos tomorrow. I think all of the grading was spot on, but if I had to do it again, I would have just slabbed it and seen what the grade would have been. I didn't do the quick press, I did the standard one and although the book looks great.... now it looks trimmed.
  16. not concerned about popularity. 58 is my favorite silver age book. Happy to get the 6.5. Was hoping for 7.0 or better on the 60, but I can live with it.
  17. well, the grades are in.... Two Gun Kid 58 6.5 WHITE pages, TGK 59 7.0 ow/w, TGK 60 6.5 ow/w and 61 7.0 ow/w. As well as Gunsmoke Western 58 7.0 white pages. Very happy with the 58, a little disappointed on the 60. Pictures in a couple days.
  18. it has gotten to the point where I am looking for books that I think Frank is going to need. Just trying to plow the way forward.
  19. super human accuracy, incredible strength for his size. World's first mutant?
  20. wow what a beautiful 4.5!!! presents very nicely. nice dark inks! well done!
