  1. Why would they do this? Hershel's farm was the setting for season 2, a whopping three issues from the comic. Then they decide to cast aside the story up until the governor and say the hell with the 15 issues of the book in between? I'm all about going on a different path, but at the same time it seems like they are rushing the story because they think they will lose viewers or something if the show becomes too slow. There's no reason they couldn't stay just a "little" more on track with the book. Here's to hoping season three isn't a let down. I think I'm still a little disgruntled that they took a pun at Tyreese's character to include someone names "T-dog" who has a secondary role in the show.
  2. One of the most detailed covers in my opinion, A little odd sure, but not bad art..
  3. Chew has been doing what now? I'm sorry... Chew is actually more "exclusive" isn't it? Isn't there actually a waiting list or something?
  4. I'm surprised that it took so long for Mark to start doing this. Chew has been doing this for what, since it came out? That would seem like the best way for the artist and rep to sell it for the most realistic price. I personally want a pre-100 cover- just one, but with the several individuals who have been aggressively buying all the covers they lay their eyes on, it looks like it's going to be a while until me or anyone else can get one.
  5. we are probably neighbors - I live 5 blocks from prospect park - take my dogs all the time! Really? I'm moving to Queens soon, I'll be in that general area.
  6. In my opinion the only issues of the WD Weekly that are worth buying are issues 1, (maybe 2 and/or 3 and/or 10), 19, 27, 33 and 48. What's everyone else think> I'm not gonna lie, I'm a big fan of the print run of WD Weekly and believe it presents a greater challenge to collect than WD. Jim When it comes down to it the Weekly's are just reprints. Personally I sold all the Weeklys I had, even my 1-4 copies, even though I'm missing those from from my regular set. They're just reprints which can serve as nice "replacement" copies for collectors who haven't got originals of that particular issue in the same way that "Image Firsts" do for Issue #1 of many series.
  7. If you keep reading he also says: I definitely think that Rick has been the anchor for the series and may be the anchor of the series for a long time. I do have plans for him and I know where his story is going, but I promise that Rick will not survive the entire run of the book. I think the book will go past 300 issues at this point I don't think Rick is going anywhere anytime soon.
  8. Perhaps a switch to a straight novelization with spot illustrations would be in order. Well said, haha.
  9. Wow, another "five minute" cover illustration. But a lot of room for sketches and sigs. If only that's what me and 98% of readers are looking for in a cover..
  10. There is a really cool zombie novel called "Rot & Ruin" that did something similar to that. Good idea, but I think the eventual trap will involve Eugene's bullets. Maybe when Negan makes a pickup they ambush them with Alexxandria's armed with guns. Rick will definitely be playing along for a while. The cover to WD 103 was just released: I can't tell if Negan is threatening to bash Rick's head in, or if he's "knighting" him into his gourp as a saviour. Wow, another "five minute" cover illustration.
  11. I was just thinking about what could happen in the series after issue 100, and I think I may have it. It may seem farfetched, but it might happen. What if Rick plays along with Negan for a little while until he can find out where their homebase is. Then, he gets a whole chit ton of zombies from DC and the surrounding area to create a herd and sends it Negan's way. That would be Just a guess though.
  12. I just watched the season 3 trailer again, and it looks even better than the first time I watched it. It's so cool to see the comic comic alive like that. It's pretty smart that they didn't make the Governor seem batchit crazy because it will make it that much more effective to see it in the episodes. I'm excited. "Welcome to Woodbury".
  13. Either we watched 2 different trailers or you were expecting to see a new season of the Simpsons. The show looks awesome! I like the changes from the comic. Okay, I take back my comment. We DID watch two different trailers. I only had watched the 1 minute clip with michonne in the convenience store. Just watched the official trailer and chit my pants a little. Seemed like there were a few scenes taken directly from the comic. Boy am I excited now!
  14. I'm not really all that impressed with the season 3 trailer...
  15. It's really hard to make an opinion of Negan because we've only seen him in one issue. Lets compare him to the governor in ten issues or so.... I will say though, that I actually hate his guts. I know he's just a comic book character, but his attitude makes me want to slowly squeeze his skull until it pops. Bravo Kirkman for creating this feeling!
  16. ehh, maybe.. but then again the governor only appeared in less than 130 pages of the series (around 6 full issues or so) and he was responsible for the death of what, dozens and dozens of people - the main character's wife and new born child? I don't think he was a chump at all..
  17. They didn't eat them, they "mutilated them" and burned their bodies. I remember rick saying something along the lines of "maybe we will even have a taste " I'll have to go back & read it again but I'm pretty sure at least imo that it was implied they did "Maybe we'll carve out a piece and have ourselves a taste" is what I believe he said... right before "put him on the table over there"... Rick and co certainly did not eat the hunters. The whole reason they killed them all was because the hunters were eating other people. It would have been completely against their code of ethics to eat them - I don't think they were THAT hungry. Now Morgan, killing people to feed to his Zombified son, THAT deserves a little bit more attention. It just got blown over because Rick decided not to tell everyone else in the group.
  18. Thats cool! is it from issue 7 or the flashback in the thirties?
  19. After reading this thread, I only hate ebay more than I already did. Glad this scumbag finally got "bent over" him self.
  20. I still maintain the Carl killing the child murderer wasone if not the most shocking moments in any comic & that the rape & murder of children were more shocking moments in comic history. I completely forgot, until recently, that Abraham said his daughter was 6 or 7 when she was raped - whereas he turned the guy who did it inside out. Woah on both accounts. and for all we know, these are the ones that might have done that to Abe's daughter I'm pretty sure Abe said it was a group of people from his hometown.. but I could be wrong. Pretty sure Negan's group is pretty damn close to this though based on his will nilly-ness with that bat and some of his dialogue. I think that there's going to be some dark stuff to come. I forgot just HOW dark this comic has been at times. The governor's "fifty seven channels and nothing on" wall of heads, or Hershel's two daughters heads getting cut off. I think that the last thirty issues or so have lulled readers into this perception that things could never get that bad again. Boy I hope I'm wrong - I think that brutality is what I like most about this comic.

  22. Let's take a look at your ink work. Post it up. I couldn't do any better. That's not really the point. When we are discussing my ability to draw, I'll be sure to PM you. Show me a 5 year old that can mimic Adlards work and I will show you a prodigy I agree with the above quote though - really. I mean, the art isn't terrible, but like I've mentioned many times before - We've all seen how he CAN draw, i.e. look at that dbl page splash with Tyreese punching Rick. He CAN put a little more attention to detail. Instead, he's been using 7 lines to draw facial hair on men. It really is pretty annoying when you look at all the earlier art and see that he actually took an extra three minutes to add some more lines in there and not make it look like chit. example: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=900438&GSub=131078 look at Tyreese's beautifully sculpted facial hair!
  23. WOW! These two vault covers are awesome! Great pick ups!
