  1. I have two copies, and I only bought the first because I was holding out for a 9.6 with perfect wrap and knew it would take a while. It ended up taking about a decade.
  2. Make her happier by holding out for a 9.6 that has a perfect wrap. THAT'S what's really rare on that issue, a perfect wrap. Most copies of Marvel comics issued that month have moderate to severe front-to-back wrap, with the worst looking like they came from the Arvel Omics Roup. I can count the number of 9.6 copies I've seen with perfect wrap on one hand.
  3. there's no shame here, you can admit #11 is your favorite I don't expect either of you to admit to how many times you've sung "Let it Go" in the shower.
  4. Trailer looks pretty good. The scene of Chewie piledriving that dude looks bad-arse.
  5. He didn't give any reason I've seen for why he was excluding Harley Quinn, so yea, maybe they'll change their mind. But probably not this season because he just reaffirmed her absence from the show again a few months ago.
  6. The show's producer has repeatedly said that Harley Quinn will never be in the show. Was he leading us on for a dramatic introduction at some point? Probably not.
  7. I'm a little surprised I feel this way about Gotham because two years ago I would groan every time it showed up on my DVR. The main difference now is Joker, but it's also Riddler, and the fact that Bruce is finally about to become Batman.
  8. Oh, and while not completely a lock, it's more clear than ever that Cameron Monaghan is Joker. I wasn't as sure a few seasons ago, but I sure hoped he was since he's so good. Now he's clearly so good there's no way they're replacing him, and every signal they give is that he's the Joker in everything but name.
  9. I'm being a bit tough on Camren Bicondova as Catwoman given that she was 14 when she started working on the show, but I haven't seen much improvement now that she's 19. In her acting ability, yes. In terms of her screen presence, not at all.
  10. Yea, but I didn't see enough of Leto to be sure. I'm definitely wondering most of the time whether or not Ledger or Cameron Monaghan is better in the role. I lean towards Ledger, but it's really hard to tell because it's clear that Monaghan has lifted several elements of Ledger's performance and used them in his own on Gotham. So I find myself being reminded of Ledger while I'm watching the show more than I end up comparing the two.
  11. Definitely my favorite superhero show on television right now. Probably in the running for best-ever, but I haven't mulled that over nearly long enough to be sure. The actors playing Penguin, Riddler, and Joker are absolutely sublime and I love every moment they're on screen. This is also my favorite version of Alfred by far. Selina Kyle could use a re-cast. She looks like Michelle Pfeiffer, but wow, she has NONE of the charisma that Pfeiffer brought to Catwoman.
  12. The first season mostly felt that way to me as well, but much more comprehensible than almost any Lynch work after Wild at Heart. I may not be able to keep up with that style though. I'm not enjoying all the astral plane stuff aside from Jemaine Clement, who I'm glad to see being used more so far. I LOVE the visual aesthetic, and that's what's mostly keeping me going.
  13. Who's portraying Red Sonja in the pic in that tweet?
  14. Aside from Roddy Piper's one-liners and action hero vibe, Duke Nukem's main and most original appeal is the voice actor who played him. That guy's delivery was freaking awesome, WAAAAY better than Roddy Piper. I'm not sure John Cena can live up to that guy's voice either. Here's Roddy's original delivery of the bubblegum line from "They Live." Once you've heard the Duke Nukem voice actor's delivery, Piper's sounds really lame in comparison.
  15. That line was a direct lift from Rowdy Roddy Piper from the film "They Live." Nukem is based more on Roddy Piper than anyone else, although his physical appearance looks more like Dolph Lundgren. Appropriate they choose a wrestler to play a video game character based upon a wrestler, I guess.
  16. I don't mind at all if this dies, but the horror angle of New Mutants looks like it could be good.
  17. Horrific. I still had the April 13th release date on my calendar and was actually wondering last week if I'd be able to see it that weekend.
  18. Remember the Wonder Woman results in certain countries where women are considered a lower class (India, Russia), or where the movie was banned completely because Gal Gadot is Israeli? Well, same ignorance raises its ugly head with regard to non-Caucasians in certain countries. Chinese moviegoers think Black Panther is just too black That was certainly my first guess, but I was hoping I was wrong.
  19. Why is Black Panther not doing as well overseas as the other top 5 films?
  20. Skinner's still alive, isn't he? Looked like that car mostly passed over him. So the kid can survive a bullet to the head?
  21. Finally saw "Split" last night. Wow, Anya Taylor-Joy is stunning. Those eyes look like they're right out of Japanese anime. How exactly did she get those scratches on her stomach? Are we to assume her uncle did that?
  22. Wow, hadn't heard she's quitting. I had assumed they were transitioning to a new cast anyway after they showed those two agents who looked generally like Mulder and Scully but younger and was surprised that they didn't appear in this season at all.
  23. Why's that? I didn't notice any finality to the episodes.
  24. I think we humans enjoy seeing records broken, whether it's an athletic record, or a record price for a comic book, or a movie box office record. Everyone knew the first Avengers movie was going to do really well at the box office, but Black Panther (and to a slightly lesser degree Wonder Woman) came out and SO exceeded expectations that I really cheer for it's success. Part of me knows it's just the industry getting rich, but another part of me is rooting for the movie to just keep breaking records. Black Panther has always been a "B" list character in the Marvel Universe. NO MORE! BP will now be "A" list all the way. Yes, that's why I check at the end of theatrical runs. A post or two per day would be fine, but a dozen or more per day talking about the numbers?
