  1. After the first season of Daredevil, it seemed like Marvel's movie magic was going to translate to television, too, but as time has gone on the quality has degraded. Do the shows need to be pulled out from under Ike Perlmutter just like Kevin Feige managed to do with the movies? Is there a Kevin Feige equivalent in charge of the television shows? I thought it was Jeph Loeb a while back, but I'm not sure he's still there. That's not a direct commentary on Punisher because I'm only two episodes in, but it hasn't grabbed me yet. I was an avid reader of the Garth Ennis Punishers for years and I do like the character.
  2. Rome did it for me. Him and his partner in battle/crime. Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus. Both of whom were pulled partially from history in that both were soldiers that Julius Caesar described in his personal writings as helping each other during battle.
  3. I remember enjoying that film. But I was biased towards Ray Stevenson, an actor I absolutely LOVED in the HBO series "Rome."
  4. Does Marvel still put their adult-oriented content in comic books into the Marvel Knights line? They could do something similar to or exactly the same as that for films. I've seen them use that same Marvel Knights branding on their animated films with mature content in the past.
  5. Has Disney really never produced ANY R-rated films? They're that puritanical about their image?
  6. Tell me you are joking. If you just spoiled the movie that is not cool. No, he was just trying to be kind about spoilers...it's Yoda who comes back as a force ghost to beat Snoke.
  7. I give it a 90% chance Fantastic Four goes back to Marvel for production. Whether or not Constantin Films maintains their license is irrelevant to fans and really only relevant to Disney's profit margin; it's clear that Marvel will give Constantin their best return, most likely FAR better than Fox ever did.
  8. I think it is all News and Sports. No other TV or movie production operations. All the articles say the Fox television network and its dozens of local affiliate stations around the country remain owned by Fox. But with the Simpsons, Family Guy, and whatever else Disney gets gone, I haven't heard what they'll be showing.
  9. They just showed up on the main site. Nice to see they're posting to Twitter before their own site.
  10. I'm not clear on what's happening with the Fox network. If Disney gets all or most of its content, what exactly will Fox be airing?
  11. Biggest movie of the year and half an hour later Rotten Tomatoes has nothing?!?! You've got one job, Rotten Tomatoes...DO YOUR JOB!
  12. If you're Constantin Films, I don't see who else you'd have do your production other than Marvel at this point. What would motivate them to use anyone other than Marvel?
  13. The show is also too teen drama angsty. Very formulaic and Dawson's Creek-y whenever there's anything tough to deal with, lots of long looks and canned drama moments. I imagine they're doing that in lieu of having to spend $20 million per episode on visual effects, but they need to jazz it up more. I'm tired of them bickering about whether or not to do something that's risky--I don't want to see that sheet, just do it, or not. More doing, less talking for a quarter of the show about whether or not to do something. I like the government agent whose daughter got wacked, he's a highlight of the show.
  14. Disney does have their way, and I fully expect the series to continue indefinitely. Why do you want it to end?
  15. One note on that--the thinking behind WHY he got his face cut off was REALLY dumb. But moving past that, it's an interesting alternative to give him the strange appearance and perma-smile to the comic's idea of him falling into a vat of chemicals. But sheesh, try to find a better reason for it to have happened.
  16. Lethal Protector is a solid version of the character to base a movie upon. It's the best iteration of the character I've seen, far more believable and likable than the ideas behind Eddie Brock that David Michelinie and McFarlane came up with in Amazing Spider-Man 298 to 300. I've always loved Venom's powers and the way he looks, but Eddie Brock as a character is just dumb.
  17. I still LOVE the Apocalypse character design. I generally enjoyed him in his film, but he was just OK and not as good as I was hoping for.
  18. Yea, she seems good, but the character is just annoying as hell. Whoever thought in the writer's room "let's do X-Men, but with their parents around to constantly nag them about safety" needs a swift kick to the nards. But I do like the show overall.
  19. If X-Men and Fantastic Four come back to Marvel within days of The Last Jedi release I'll probably have a nerdgasm so intense my head will implode.
  20. This series is better than ever right now. The design and performances of the villains, particularly Joker, Penguin, and Riddler are UNBELIEVABLY good. I never expected something this good to be on network television, but here it is. I'm particularly impressed by the design of Joker. With first Jack Nicholson and then Chris Nolan and Heath Ledger amping up the expectations on a great Joker, I didn't think anyone could match it, but so far, this series has done it. The design of him being resurrected and having his face cut off and then reattached is compellingly unique, and Cameron Monaghan's performance is just great so far. He's just as good as Nicholson was, but I'm not sure he's anywhere near Ledger's level yet.
  21. Does this mean Marvel will bring Wolverine and Fantastic Four back in the comics?
  22. I don't trust Fox. They killed it with Logan and Deadpool, but those successes are more attributable to the directors, not anyone at Fox. And this is Simon Kinberg's very first movie as a director, so who knows.
  23. She's got a stone face and shows little or no emotion, ever. Byrne presented her far more expressively evil as Dark Phoenix.
