  1. Yea this is the standard Sideshow version that I ordered when the initial wave of Mandalorian merch went up, but there's a Hot Toys one for pre-order now thats posable and has interchangeable hands and ears but he's like $450 whereas I think this one was $275 when it first came out Oh, missed that. You mean this one? https://www.sideshow.com/collectibles/star-wars-the-child-hot-toys-905871 Usually Sideshow says exactly how many points of articulation a figure has, but this one just says "a wide range of articulations." I'm guessing that actually means the range isn't so wide.
  2. That's the one that's not articulated, right? I haven't seen they've done a life-size articulated version yet which kind of shocks me. Usually Sideshow is all over everything high-end in the statue and action figure arena.
  3. Why was Moff Gideon going to shoot himself before Cara knocked him out? I can think of two or three possible reasons, but I can't narrow it down to one or be sure I know. Also we never heard exactly what they were cloning with Grogu's blood. Should we just assume it's either Snoke or Palpatine?
  4. Looks great! And what an episode. The surprise reveal wasn't perfect in execution, but it seemed like a tech upgrade from the same efforts made during Rogue One. I thought what they did made the most sense--and said as much a few weeks ago--but I really didn't think they'd go there. Yet that's exactly where they went!
  5. Yep. Even if either of us decides we don't have room for it re-selling it for at least a small profit should be dead-easy.
  6. Same. I think I've done it once when a spammer started a "buy my stuff" thread that didn't even relate to any of the collectible hobbies the CCS deals in. But you put it nicer than I would have...most of the ways people hump the button suggests a set of cojones so small that the only way they can live with themselves is to inflict pain and irritation in others.
  7. They're all admin accounts. I'm guessing Arch is Arch, and Dena is Dena, and any of the cgcmod(x) accounts are some periodically-changing mix of employees of Arch's company, the CCS, or user moderators. I'm guessing the user moderators have higher numbers and the employees of Arch's company and the CCS are mostly low numbers. I'm guessing cgcmod1 is one of Architect's co-workers, but this is all speculation. Which is why I was surprised to hear G G say we now know who cgcmod1 is. I would assume they're a paid person who moderates in their spare time who doesn't have their own account in this forum.
  8. I definitely don't. I moderated forums well before this one ever existed, and it's mostly unsatisfying work, or that's how I found it. I'd never want to do it on a site I enjoyed posting on so I mostly appreciate those who do it aside from the rare occasions when they start to clearly over-moderate. I knew two of the user moderators on that list and correctly guessed a third years ago but didn't have it confirmed until now, but you weren't one of them.
  9. Are you suggesting the same mod who hid it must have un-hid it, then? I have no clue who did either side, but if I were to guess I would say Blowie hid it, and Sharon un-hid it. I say that mostly because of how quickly the post was deleted coupled with many examples over most of the last decade where Blowie has frequently assumed that my un-PC humor was either serious or surreptitiously dangerous in some way. When you're on your moderator account do you see the posts other moderators have deleted/hidden?
  10. This post was deleted by a mod less than two minutes after I posted it, but it's back this morning. I posted it knowing that Sharon wouldn't take it seriously and know I was kidding because we've talked many times over the years, so I'm guessing one mod who assumed I might be misogynist deleted it, but another who knew better undeleted it. How does that kind of thing work? I've definitely seen some cagey post deletions, although I wouldn't necessarily include the one from me I just quoted since I get that half of people wouldn't realize I was kidding. I recall years ago someone would delete any Liberty Meadows comic cover I posted which I found ridiculous, and Roy has been on the shortest of leashes of late. Although to be fair he's posted some highly political stuff that he adamantly claims isn't political, but some of the things he claims he's gotten deleted and points for seem fairly tame if they were as he represented them to be.
  11. It's all in the thread Lou, but FYI, the avatars have a little 'badge of honour' in the bottom middle, rather like my avatar but a lot smaller. Those badges don't tell us who cgcmod1 is, so what revealed their identity?
  12. Women seem a bit over-represented as well. Sky is making up about 15% of the mods, yet women only make up about 0.5% of active forum members. It's time to pack the volunteer moderator ranks with a LOT more men.
  13. When you are done giving timeouts, could you please make avatars for EVERYONE with that badge thingy so no one feels left out (or like they are being watched;)
  14. Savvy buyers will also look at your description, and whenever you take a picture of your actual item you should always note that in the description since most people use stock images. I frequently go with the default item description text eBay fills in from the categories I choose, but the one thing I almost always edit in is that the image pictured is the exact one they will receive. I mostly do that on toys because I know some people are picky about the box.
  15. All you've ever had to do with this new-ish forum software (i.e. the one we've been using for years now) is post in the address to an image. I haven't noticed that any of my image addresses have been mangled. How are you trying to create images in posts DR.X? Here's an example of what I paste that I'm explicitly setting to code in this post so that the forum software doesn't convert it to an image: https://am23.mediaite.com/tms/cnt/uploads/2020/01/babyyoda-1200x675.jpg And if you just paste that address into a post, it gets converted to this:
  16. I'm fine with the upgrade, but the slowness is unbearable. It was slow before, and now it's just glacial.
  17. Knowing that the Hasbro Slave I is so much smaller than the real one I think I'll mostly display it with one figure inside, maybe two. I don't normally buy 1:18 figures, but I'll probably get the Walmart Din and the forthcoming Return of the Jedi Boba Fett shown below just to go with the ship. The detail level they're able to achieve on 3.75" figures these days is really surprising!
  18. The image below shows that Slave I is bigger than I remember. I think the Hasbro one is about 21 inches long, so I guess a true 1:18 scale version would be 4 to 6 feet long. That explains why there was so much room in the cabin for them to sit around during the last episode of Mandalorian. I considered the Razor Crest, but in the end I didn't want to dedicate the display space it required. The only reason I bought Slave I is because of the vertical display option with the stand...it looks like you can get away with it just taking about a square foot of shelf space.
  19. Pics! It holds three figures doesn't it? Which three seem best to put in it? I guess Boba, Din, and Cara? Or maybe just Jango? I'm guessing there's no child version of Boba to re-create their time in the ship during Attack of the Clones.
  20. Today is the last day for that Best Buy 25% off deal so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on Slave I. Given the resale value on it $120 seems like a steal. It ends at midnight, so anyone thinking about it needs to pull the trigger within the next few hours.
  21. Same, it has been in my cart for a week. For some reason Best Buy isn't shipping anything right now. I have a few figures in there as well and none can be shipped.
  22. You're REALLY making me want this thing. But I don't collect 1:18 scale! Yet...1:12 scale vehicles are COMPLETELY impractical to display and store. Don't know what to do!
  23. You're conflating the actor and the character to a degree that leaves me uncertain as to what you're thinking...particularly since you're saying it's not about the power set, yet when you tie the actor to the character and then replace the fictional character with another one with the same power set, we're left with the conflicting reality that it IS about the power set.
  24. Not recasting Boseman is a continuation of the decision to not re-cast Robert Downey as Stark and Chris Evans as Cap after both decided to leave the franchise. Anyone had further insight as to what Feige is thinking with this approach? All I can figure is an eventual reboot at some point in the far-out future. Or is the thinking that you can just keep replacing a power set with a new fictional character played by a new actor? So Peter Parker gets replaced by Miles Morales, who eventually gets replaced by <insert new Spider-person here>? T'Challa gets replaced by Shuri, Cap by Sam and maybe even Bucky, Stark by Riri Williams, etc etc? Feige wasn't thinking this way back in 2010 when he re-cast Bruce Banner played by Ed Norton with Mark Ruffallo, but he is now. Can't say I'm a fan of not just re-casting a specific character. What's he going to do the first time a character being newly-portrayed by an actor when that actor tragically dies? So if the new Wolverine kills it but then happens to overdose the year after he first plays the character will we just lose Logan and get Weapon XI?
  25. Looking at last week's investor videos it's clear Kathleen Kennedy is front and center announcing everything so she will continue to helm Star Wars. Did anyone see anything about Feige's supposed movie? I'd still rather he provided management help instead of working on just one film. And if he was advising Kennedy we probably wouldn't know about it, so if Kennedy magically gets better it's possible Feige has been whispering to her, and that'd be great, but we probably won't know if that ever happened until a while after we've gotten lots of quality content. The next glimmer of hope I'm looking for is some sort of evidence that someone capable will be curating the content in the way Lucas did before and Feige does for Marvel now. I used to want that to be Pablo Hidalgo, but he's just not doing it, and his involvement with Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker tells me I may have been wrong to think he's the guy. Feige produced the early Sony and Fox films for Marvel, but he has explicitly said Avi Arad had control and he was often ignored, but Hidalgo was supposedly fine with the content of those two Star Wars movies, so if that's true he's not the right guy. I'm now hoping the curator ends up being Dave Filoni, but it looks like he's too actively involved in Mandalorian and its off-shoots to affect all the others, so I'm guessing he has no wider role. So I'm optimistic about all of these new projects but not holding my breath for any of them besides the ones Filoni and Favreau are helming. I'm half-interested in the Patty Jenkins movie because Wonder Woman had some nice moments at the start and up through those WWI battle scenes, but the last third of that movie was boring as heck so I'm not expecting much from her, either.
