  1. Did anyone read the 15 or so comics this character is in?
  2. Dragoncon held it's first ever Dragon Awards(fan voted) and Ms. Marvel won best comic for 2016. Just figured I would mention it. Sandman Overture won for best Graphic Novel.
  3. With the emphasis on high priced variants it might be for good this time. I would sure hate to be holding in their game of hot potato.
  4. For these variants print runs matter because they create the bulk of the demand. For Hulk #181 the demand is over what is on the inside. It's a big difference. When only the cover matters demand hangs by a very thin thread. By that logic, Hulk #180 would be the more valuable and sought-after book. This is not the case. Collectors prefer #181 because of... the cover. (Just throwing this out there, although I do see the point you're trying to make.) Also, many of these debates miss the fact that the hobby has grown into collectors purchasing many, many books purely for the cover artwork. It's art; not so different from buying a rare painting at this point. And the better the story behind it, the more it's worth. Im a cover collector Same here. I'm a cover collector too. I also prefer a hulk 181 over 180. It only makes sense as a lot of card collectors are back in the fold.
  5. Pit stop at Worldcon to get some GRRM autographs and picked up a few comics.........hopefully a few more to show soon....... I had him sign the title page inside the Galaxy magazine.
  6. Nope. I'll be in KC next week for Worldcon.
  7. I think I know what this means, but I'm not going to tell anybody in case I'm wayyyy wrong. You must tell now!!!!! Ohhhh......I see that you did.......
  8. Not high grade but none the less...thanks to boardie Bubbagump for the COC 22.
  9. Another nice day..... a nice high-mid grade Silver Age collection came in the door and picked up a few early Spideys (2, 13 and 14) and a Hulk 3 for a customer who has been looking for them. Steady sales, mostly collectors with their want lists...... not many modern spec books being asked for. Blowing out dollar books like crazy......... taking a few more dollar boxes to restock tomorrow........ do any other cons go 10 - 9 for show hours?
  10. Good first day ......lots of good books around the con and some dealers I have never seen before. Steady sales and great buys all over the place....... A buyer passed on my Best Cellars when he pointed out there was no Monster Boy story in it....... it has the the last 2 pages of the third story to start and the third story printed 2 times after it......... oops....but now I have an error version at home and I will take another one for him to look at tomorrow.
  11. My favorite pick ups today at Texas Comic Con.....
  12. Set up yesterday. There will be a lot of cool comics at this show!
  13. Two weeks away. Not the biggest show but there will be comics!
  14. Here is the set up that caught my eye.... tucked away at the far end of the show..... And books I pulled before Weird paper joined in the fun.... And the big boys......Sold the 1st and 3rd book at the show. and other $1 finds through out the show.... More dollar books and the Harvey digests were .25 cents each..... The Australian comics and Astro Boy came from Weird Paper the Laugh was $8(looks VF),Punisher $2 and Supes $15 so I figured why not? Board member Grebal hit the con with bags of Fajita tacos and passed them around. Thanks!!!!
  15. "The End of the World" is a personal favorite of mine.
  16. Not a shabby show. Found some great dollar books and sold some great books. Most people were not looking for modern spec books but Riri Williams was asked for quite a bit.
  17. I hunt early but have found cool things at the last moment too.
