did someone say something about hitting their 90's sweet spot?
I bet this one will go for a few bucks...
https://comics.ha.com/itm/miscellaneous//p/7141-54007.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515
This one is actually from 1999, from the 'Road To No Man's Land' arc.
That issue retold Batman's big moments up to that point.
Ah, shows you how much i know, still counts as 90's at least!
Thanks for the info Gal.
I think it will still do well enough, since it is a splash pencilled by
Jim Aparo and does depict a 'important' moment.

One of my collecting philosophies has been, "I rather have the option to sell later, then regret not buying now."
Not sure if the pieces I have to offer fall into the right category for you,
but I've PMed you about a few nice '90s DC pieces.
Best,
Gal

Hi guys,
I'm hoping to locate/buy/trade the cover for THE FLASH v2 #55 cover
by Greg Larocque & Jose Marzan Jr:
It was sold on Heritage a few years back. It looks like the original art
was hand-colored after publication, but I like the piece anyway.
So, if anyone has a lead or the piece, please contact me at:
galschwart@gmail.com
Thanks,
Gal
Bumpty bump...

Not a huge DC/Superman guy but why not. Picked up the title splash to action 655. It was just iconic, it looked like what you would hope a superman title splash would look like. McLeod and Breeding, killed it. Love the copper age, was in middle school when this came out, think i even read it (had a truck on cover, different cover artist).
anyway, huzzah...superman icon
Stunning image from the days when Superman used to be, well... super !

Hi al,
Just in time for his cinematic debut in BATMAN V SUPERMAN:DAWN OF JUSTICE,
here's a nifty 1994 (0r 1993) DOOMSDAY style guide, illustrated by two
legendary Superman artists - Kerry Gammill and Jose Garcia Lopez:
Unlike many modern style guides, this one was inked over original pencils,
so both artists worked on this very piece.
Personally, I much prefer this earlier version of Doomsday over
some later depictions. I hope you'd enjoy it as much as I have.
Cheers,
Gal

Occasionally I'll see here or on CAF a story about how some wife or girlfriend was amazing and bought an incredible piece of art for their significant other. Every time I saw something like that, I wished that my wife had enough comic knowledge to do the same. Let me be clear, my wife rocks and after 9 years or marriage I'm still super stoked I get to be with her. But, for as supportive as she is about my enjoyment of comics, she doesn't share that passion. Well, this Christmas, she blew me away with this surprise:
I can't be 100% sure because as a kid my love of super heroes didn't actually start with comic books - I didn't start collecting until much later so I didn't really keep track. But one of the very first (if not the first) comics I owned was Superman 121. The story wasn't really cool (although it's amazing how relevant it still is today), but the cover really grabbed me - very powerful. Well, many years later I learned that cover was hanging in a local comic shop. I'm sure I showed my wife on one of the 2 occasions she's ever been there with me, but I was also sure she was only half paying attention. Boy was I wrong.
Without so much as hinting, she went to the shop and opened a negotiation with the owner to buy it for me. Took her a couple days of calling an going back in, but he finally let it go. An incredible gift and my first OA cover, from possibly the first book I ever owned (did I mention my wife rocks?):
For what it's worth, I actually really liked the story and cover !
Dan Jurgens did some amazing "done-in-one" stories and this was a
good read !
Congrats on this amazing gem and even more so for having such
a wonderful soulmate !

Another nice page by Jackson "Butch" Guice & Denis Rodier;
this time it's a cool cliffhanger from ACTION COMICS #0 (1994):

Hi guys,
I really wish to expand the Aquaman niche in my collection

These are just TOO good !
X-MEN #25 was my first comic by one of the Kubert's and my second ever X-MEN comic.
I'm very jealous of those pickups, but I'm thankful for being able to see them in glorious black and white.

UPDATE:
Despite my earlier assumption that I've located the owner of this piece,
it remains far and away...
I'm looking for the original art of the cover for

Art by Howard Porter.
Any clue or lead would be most appreciated
I can be reached at:

Just got in this Norm Breyfogle page from Life with Archie:
I have to admit, I haven't read Norm's run on classic Archie,
but this looks like a lot of fun, with top notch art (as I would expect from Norm).

Hi all,
I've reposted my new Dan Jurgens cover.
The problem with the image seems to be resolved !
Please check it out via this link:
The downer -
the two nice comments I got from Mike and Aiden are now gone...
I'm really sorry for that, guys, if you could, please repost them...
I really appreciate the time and thought you'd put into it.

Hi all,
My first CAF update of 2014:
I saw this on EBay and HAD to win it as the listing had two magic words
(or actually three) which are - "Oracle" and "Brett Breeding".
There was quite a bit of an unexpected bidding war on this one,
but victory is sweet (even if the price ended up higher than I had
hoped to spend).
I think Paul Pelletier and my favorite inker, Brett Breeding, did
a bang-up job on this nice pinup of Oracle.
Having Batman in it didn't hurt either...
I'll try to post a better picture (this one distorted and skewed),
once I'll get the art.
As always, comments are welcome and appreciated !
Thanks,
Gal

Posted
Stefano Raffaele is an artist whose style grew leaps and bounds over the last
few years and is now doing outstanding work on some cool Sci-Fi projects.
In 1997, Raffaele was invited to be one of the four major Italian artists
to contribute a pinup to the Play Press edition of SUPERMAN #105, which
was the Italian edition of SUPERMAN #123 and featured the debut of
Superman Blue:

I was told this piece was also published in the U.S, but I have no idea where;
if you have any clue about the U.S. publication of this piece, please let me
know. Thanks !
