  1. I don't believe there was a variant cover to Uncharted 1. The ebay listing being referred to with $7.95 price has a pic of issue 2 on it. Wonder which issue a buyer would end up getting... hm

Anyway, yes, agreed that a handful of sales don't constitute hotness necessarily, but more of a blip. As I don't believe the issue has gone to a second print, it could very well be people just trying to go back and obtain a first issue after buying issue 2 or 3 (like me). And then finding that there's just not that many copies being offered for sale, so they are willing to bump up their budget on it. (I suppose that's just typical supply & demand, huh? :P )

There is an Adam Hughes variant cover for #1.

  2. and which nonplayer is the true 1st print, i'm seeing some people say the cover with the #1 outside the words is a 2nd print variant and some saying it's a 1st print....there's also the cover with the #1 inside the letters that is being called a 1st print.

The cover with the white border around the artwork is the 1st print. The cover with the full bleed cover art is 2nd print.

there are 2 different covers with different fonts for the nonplayer title, both being sold as 1st prints. Was there a variant cover that came out with the 1st printing?

Not to my knowledge. Got any pics?

  3. well the guy is guaranteeing the book will get graded a mint 10.0. Sounds worth it.

Then he should get it graded and sell it for $200. lol

Seriously, this book is not even a year old yet. Movie buzz will help it for a while, but it's no guarantee long term unless it actually gets made. As much as I liked the first issue, I have serious reservations about whether we'll ever see the story completed in comic form.

  5. Someone mentioned it early, but what's the what on Nonplayer #1? Looks like a $5-$7 book raw with 9.8's going for $80. Now that the movie (wtf... one issue out and now a movie?) has a writer will this start to heat up? I thought the printrun on this was pretty decent (for an Image book). Anyone know? Where are 9.8's going to top out?

Should I buy this raw copy for $125?

"Nonplayer issue #1 sold out . This is in mint condition and it is bagged and boarded . "

I would not pay $125 for a raw copy of this book. $15-$20 seems about right for a raw copy.

  6. ;)

I'm getting ready to change my L&K registry set and put in my SS copies in place of the HG stuff. It's what I really like and I'm accumulating more and more SS for this set but it will NEVER be a total SS set like my Dark Tower Gunslinger Born. Hope to do it this weekend, maybe even tonight.

Cheryl, I was browsing your very impressive Alpha Flight registry set. Awesome collection. How did you come across so many high grade 80s and 90s comics?

    Thank you!!!!!

    TWO WORDS: Worldwide Comics :)

Doc Joe directed me to Stephen Ritter when I started collecting my AFs as Stephen was just starting to grade a huge collection he had purchased. I did purchase from Reynoldjay on eBay, ComicLink and some I even scored myself but the majority came from Ritter.

Cool. I've purchased a few raw books from WorldWide and was very pleased. I scored a really sweet copy of Strange Adventures #187 from there.

  7. ;)

  8. I looked but couldn't find anything in sales topics. Anyways I am so bummed out about the lack of a tv show right now its just really depressing :(

Hey mad I never asked why you were selling everything

Still haven't listed my remaining Locke & Key slabs yet, but here's what I have left.

SDCC Ghost Key Signed by Joe Hill $150

The main reason I'm selling is to get some extra cash saved up for my wedding in November. The other part of it is I'm narrowing my collecting focus when it comes to graded books.

If you or anyone has any interest in my remaining L&K slabs, PM me. TV show or not, it's still a great series.

  9. Well, 150 miles and $35 in gas money later...

I went to the Jetpack Comics Free Comic Book Day event in Rochester, NH.

    DSC03907Large.jpg

...and picked up some great little floppies.

    DSC03909Large.jpg

Joe Hill was at one of the locations, so I decided to get some signatures from him.

    DSC03900Large.jpg

I always wanted to even out this poster EvilAsh gave to me with Joe's name next to Gabriel's.

    DSC03913Large.jpg

I was about to have him sign all the key tags I had that didn't come with his signature originally, when a family just jumped in front of me and started to have him sign FCBD floppies. His co-writer buddy there Jason Ciaramella looked as stunned as I felt. He started to sketch a Skrull Electra on a little girl's Secret Invasion #1. It looked pretty great after he was done.

Then it became my turn again. But, I was so rattled, I sounded like a gibbering fool.

Jason really enjoyed the keys. I felt bad because I was so distracted, I almost totally ignored him.

But, Joe got them all done. Perfectly.

    DSC039101Large.jpg

    Signed some Subtterrean Press Hardcovers.

...and I wanted to do something no one could replicate. I had him sign my Registry Awards, to make them look more official. I think I got the idea from oneasian.

    2010RegistryAwardLarge.jpg

There was a Crow there and a Baroness from GI Joe(no pics of her though, as I thought she was gonna slap me around and call me Suzy if I did). Joe knew right off his 1st comic appearance was Creepshow #1 too(which makes me want to keep mine all the more now). Saw the lovely Sara Richard and gave a hometown shout out. I got to meet CGC boardies Ralph(Jetpack Comics) and Andrew(GACollectibles) too. Andrew was a super cool guy to talk with me for a bit about a Joe Hill book for being really so busy there.

All in all, it was fun adventure. :)

Sweet! I had no idea actual certificates were issued for the Registry Awards. I always assumed it was strictly virtual.

Looks like a great event. Congrats!
