Always better to submit yourself. You can check status through the CGC website rather than relying on someone else to do that for you. Plus you get the books shipped directly back to you and will likely pay less in total than if you submitted through a retailer.

The prior label generation (2003-2016) had some loose grading periods in there, so any books in those cases need to be scrutinized to make sure the grade is warranted. Of course, this applies for the new label as well since some of those "loosely graded" books could be reholdered at any time.

Update. Police report filed and information submitted to eBay. Within hours they ruled in my favor and reversed the refund to the buyer.

There are better alternatives to Beachbum as well. I've been using 3204 Auctions for CGC 9.8 subscriptions for years. Not perfect, but any misses are communicated in a timely manner.

This was my first message to the buyer and his response. Notice he already seems to know I only received a shipping label before I even reveal that information.

Add camich-43 to the list of eBay scammers. He purchased a comic from me on eBay and promptly opened a return request the same day he received. He claimed there was some kind of defect on the NM comic that was unacceptable but did not provide photos to back up his claim. Today I received his "return" which was a single piece of cardboard with the ebay return label attached. I have reported him to eBay and am working on getting my money released for the return. It was only a $35 purchase so thankfully not a lot of money, but still a pretty despicable thing to do on his end. Add this fool to your blocked bidders list so he doesn't try to cheat anyone else.

Get a fedex account number. It's free to do so. Once you have that you can have CGC ship under your personal FedEx account and pay the actual shipping costs.
