  1. Nah, not right now vegan. I basically moved earth to find a NM+ copy of 24 and never found one. Just got lucky on ebay back in '03. Im a big cgc 9.8 with white pages GIJoe collector of issues before 31. (Thats the last issue snake eyes appears with his original costume on the cover btw. useless knowledge ). I used to own an afa 85 of both the 82 snake eyes and orignal cobra commander. Sold on ebay 2002
  2. Yes, 24 is an awesome book. Besides being the first appearance of firefly I believe, it was also the first GIJoe book I actually bought and read. I had collected the figures in 83 but didnt bother with the book for the first two years
  3. Nah, not right now. I waited forever to get my hands on 24. I think there are several 25 9.8's out there though
  4. Cool, just let me know if you ever decide to sell. I'd take 3, 9 and 12 if they have white pages. I have 1, 4,5,24 and 25 in 9.8 I had 27 but sold it.
  5. Hmm, I don't know wolvergeek. We may have to paper rock sissers this out
  6. I have a double cover I would like to post if someone would host the image for me?
  7. That is a good question. I use these thin cardboard pieces and I fold em and tape em into kinda a wedge shap and place a few backing boards behind my last comic so as not to leave a mark and then i place these things behind the comics and it puts enough gentle pressure on them so they wont fall backwards or damage em. Been doing it for years with no bad results.
  8. Props to Dr Banner for nice MTUs. Ill be paying for the 144 I just bought soon.
  9. Lately, Ive started collecting limited edition busts and statues. Ive got two black stealth firefly GIJoe minibusts along with a chromed destro version, and cobra commander. I think they are pretty cool. Ive also been spying factory x stuff like iron mans helmet.
  10. yep, i felt afa massacred my v1 snake eyes and cobra commander. I paid 250 each for them moc back in early 90's. guy thought i was crazy. each went for well over 1000 if i remember correctly at afa 85. I sometimes feel they grade harder than cgc on modern books. im still looking for both in 90-95 afa. Willing to trade big books for those babies. I do collect the palisides busts and statues. got one of the v1 bust cobra commander. Preordered the snake eyes v1 statue for march delivery. Contemplating getting the life size bust of v2 snake eyes. Just got GIjoe 31 in cgc 9.8w, last cover appearance of snake eyes in orginal costume (the way he was meant to be). GI Joe 43 is first unofficial appearance of 2nd costume but not noted on label nor does he actually appear in that issue for some reason. Man, what i wouldnt give for 21 in 9.8. I had to bust my left nut just to get issue 24 in 9.8. For some reason most of my issues of GIJoe are with ow/w pages. But back then i was reading those babies. Those books are great reads. Cant wait till GIJoe origin of cobra commander book comes out. Cant think of name of book right now its so late.
  11. Megos and Super Powers figs rock. Certain Secret Wars figs are on fire right now like foreign releases: wolverine (black claws)Ice man, electro.Black hole figures like ol bob, sentry, are pretty scare. I used to collect original star wars figures. I remember pre-ebay having phone in auctions from cloud city collectibles (they got stuff you could only dream off if you like to collect prototype figueres and movie props from star wars to indiana jones). Think they are starting new site called collectgijoe.com but dont know if up yet. I think i paid $6k for a perfect ungraded vinyl caped jawa over the phone with those guys. Sold it some years ago but cant imagine what an afa graded 95 would go for now. If anyone has a black spidey secret wars c10 pm me, im on the hunt.
  12. Ummm , PSA or Beckett 10 1975 Topps baseball cards (just cuz i like the set and bb back then actually rocked). and 1986 fleer basketball (MJ rookie year) AFA graded 90 or better GIJoe series 1 and series 2 action figures, trade paperbacks for reading, gave up atari 2600 mib cuz too much fluxuation in value, currently horading Nintendo power mags year 1-2, black spidey statues/busts/misc black spidey stuff (pre venom spidey), early drug prohibition propaganda, and an avid MAME emulator roms for my cpu/gaming computer (got over 600 games for that sucker), butterfly collar shirts (they are already back in style) and all the downloaded music albums i can get my hands on for free .
  13. I collect high grade 1975 topps Baseball cards (graded of course). I also like high grade GI Joe series 1 and 2 MOC figures from the 80's.
  14. well, the wolverine 145 nabisco variant in 9.8 went for $900. Its a good bet it will retain its value over the long haul give or take 100-200 dollars.
  15. Yep, glad to be a part of this board since day 2. -Havok
  16. Ill drop in a point or two. 1. I have almost entirely, though not fully, dropped ebay as a place to buy ungraded books b/c of the things CI mentions but 2. Not too many book shows come here to Nashville TN which would lend me to have to drive aways to them which is a bit inconvenient when I want to purchase books 3. Im too impatient to wait till a convention comes my way before purchasing a graded or ungraded book I want off ebay 4.If I don't buy my books from ebay, the speculators will store the high grade cgc's in a vault until they mummify and Ill have to wait till someone else decides to sell before I can pick em out.
  17. I probably wouldn't hold you to that cgc grade unless it came back super low, but to be on the safe side knowing the high quality crowd that makes up most of ebay, I would just stand by your own grading. Besides, what if cgc is in a strick grading period. As a non-dealer, I routinely have many books that I can't find a flaw with come back 9.6 and then sometimes 9.8 with a smaller flaw. Its a gamble. Its also probably more trouble than its worth. The real collectors can tell, give or take a point or two, if your grading is on target once they receive it.
  18. Yes even a VF+ would be very nice for a cool grand
  19. Thats very true but then again Im still in shock from the price difference of issues like FF 1 which back in the mid eighties went for about 1500 in NM condition to what it is today.
  20. Yea, since Im not a completist Im not even bothering to collect any X-men comics from issues 100-385 though there are some good storylines that are a good read in some of those. Luckily I was out of comics from 1993-2000 so I missed some real low points in many marvel series. Im not sure of DC during this period though.
