  1. That sounds like the measurements for some sort of lady flower monster -- Groot's girlfriend perhaps?
  2. I am offering up two sets of Batman buttons from 1989, still sealed. Includes two Jker buttons Both sets are one prize! Shipped anywhere in the world on me.
  3. These are recently graded and are now on eBay! Prices may be lowered, so please check back. You can also PM offers here. Thanks for looking! Akira #38 (CGC 9.6 White): $319 -- hard to find last issue! [direct price $290 + shipping] Akira #38 (CGC 9.0 White): $189 -- hard to find last issue! [direct price $172 + shipping]
  4. I would expect the chart to skew toward the higher grades because that is where the value and justification would reside. There is a huge population of ungraded books in the lower grades for all the decades, especially the 1930s to 1950s. But if they become valuable enough even in rough shape, I guess many of them may still end up getting graded. More so the early Actions and Detectives instead of the early Four Colors or Classics Illustrateds.
  5. Really cool, that is an amazing over-arching view! I was also thinking about the transition between the hobby of reading a comic book, rolling it in your back pocket, and riding off on your bike ---> to the hobby of picking the best copy off the shelf and protecting it in plastic and cardboard.
  6. I wholeheartedly agree that the term "scheduled" really starts to grind when you are well past the estimate when you originally sent the batch. In my mind, my books are checked in and then get placed in some sort of line along with books that are planned to be all graded at the same time -- planned, but not actually scheduled. I think a more accurate and less disingenuous status term would be "In Queue". Since CGC decided to "simplify" things by cutting down on the number of status steps, the words used now matter more than before.
  7. Total newb mistake to declare my newbness, but I look forward to being humbled by this prestigious contest.
  8. I still listen to the radio I was wondering if people in other countries also say "Long time listener, first time caller" when they call into a show? It's said so often on some shows, people just introduce themselves as "long time, first time"
  9. Prices in first post are lowest I will go! I can sell directly -- just PM me here. Thanks for looking!

  15. Hmmm, actually the award should be called the Best Online Nerd Resource (BONR) -- this seems to have more marketing possibilities.
  16. @valiantman I have used CGCdata for several years -sometimes to look up data on Valiants even- so just want to take the opportunity to thank you! If there is an award for Best Internet Nerd Resource, you would get my vote.
  17. Maybe CGC can have a Hall of Fame award for the best manufactured books. That way, companies can compete for the mintiest books ever made. And speculators and grading flippers know which books to avoid like the plague.
  18. The $8K was just the asking price...GoCollect shows that the selling price was $1100. Three other copies sold for $1050, $1136, and $1250. Then everyone else got their copies back from CGC and gravity took over!
