I don't think so, in a divorce case where the business is an ongoing enterprise.

This is good info.  Unless you are in possession of the inventory it will be really tough to get a complete picture of how much is there but if you think a quarter of the inventory sold each year and you guys claimed $30,000 in sales from the store each year you can start out by estimating the full price inventory is $120,000 (example sake).  If everything is put up for sale at once it may be worth $60,000 so seek $30K in a buy out.  It will at least get you a starting point but its a big he said she said issue that most of the time will need to be resolved in court by expensive lawyers.

I don't think it will or can work that way. Those pesky 1040s and attachments, and all.

Great thing about this and most hobbies....you decide how you want to collect. Something can be a grail to you and be meaningless to another person. And you may choose to post pics, videos etc or not to share anything. That is the great thing about collecting. There is no right or wrong way to do it.

You echo the discussion long ago on the NGC Boards. Your position was the same then, and I concurred then as I do now.

Ask the ton of people who are cheering Lighthouse on in his store opening thread.  He said he took care of everything but chose to remain on Probation.  I highly doubt he took care of everyone or there would have been mass appeal to remove his name anyway.

Thank you. I did note that the name is still on the HOS Probation List as of 5/7/18. It is a bit odd that someone would choose to remain on Probation. People are people, I guess.

That does not, to me, signify any finite conclusion that his situation should be "judged" any different from the other being discussed. I am not referring to the issue of trolling, etc. That is not for me to decide, by any means, regardless of my personal opinion.

He's been welcomed back with open arms. I'm all for second chances but fourth and fifth, and sixth, etc chances not so much. Nuts indeed

I know nothing about it, and the Thread is interesting (although some of the Business 101 stuff is confusing), why would the person be welcomed back with open arms? I did read that he stated all previous matters were settled a long time ago. Is there confirmation of this? Who polices the police, as to whether the matter/matters were settled? Do the original harmed members report a satisfactory conclusion?

What is the meaning of life....?

Not to put to fine a point on it, or debate, but according to Webster's II, it is the property or quality distinguishing living organisms and inanimate matter, manifested in functions such as growth, metabolism, response to stimuli, and reproduction, the physical and mental, and spiritual experiences that constitute a person's existence, the interval of time between birth and death, a manner of living, a source of vitality: animating force, something that actually exists regarded as a subject for an artist. It means a lot, the most important being keeping alive, I think.

Comanches were good at stuff that may not help drive the economy. Although they probably would have cleaned up our ISIS problem pretty quickly and gotten us out of the middle east 10 years ago with the right weapons.

lol But, if not for the Comancheria, the economy would have been in the trash.

It is a reality that hasn't happened yet. Heard a lot of the same stuff after the market tanked in 2000, 2008, etc. and it hasn't even tanked yet! All we need is 5 million 25 year old highly skilled braniac Indians to come here and jump start our demographics! (Sorry if that is offensive to anyone, they could be any ethnicity of braniac...)

    Comanches would work, too.

I am, longer-term, wary of any and all investments which may be meaningfully impacted by the demographic changes that we will see over the next 20-30 years.  DEMOGRAPHY. IS. DESTINY.  Might (or might not) be fine on a shorter-term time horizon (say, 5 to 15 years), but, if I'm looking out 30 years, I'm going to be sticking to stocks, bonds, property and precious metals, Not that these traditional investments won't also be impacted by demographic changes (and a lot of stocks, bonds and property are just plain overvalued at the moment), but, at least I can be reasonably confident that these asset classes will all still be in demand in 2048.

Whether people will still care in 2048 about what people considered decades ago to be a classic cover, or the first appearance book of a character who appeared once in a movie 35 years ago...color me skeptical. I'll be very surprised if they don't care less about such things in 2048 than we do today. 2c

If the custom title reflects the vote of the users of the site that might cushion them from liability. At least it wouldn’t be a unilateral decision and would incorporate input from the users of the site. I still think it would be the most useful solution, and the way the policy was worded would theoretically distance mods from the decision.

Either the Board is "membership" self policing in these matters, or it is not. Moderation should declare, one way or another, IMHO. Otherwise, this is a useless exercise.

  11. So, there has been 20 YES, and 6 NO = 26 votes total.

All but 7 members voted without comment; nothing wrong with that, BTW.

However, it does raise the question as to whether the Poll is flawed or not, since 7 members that posted a comment actually had 9 different suggestions, and 5 of those members had multiple different suggestions that were not exactly YES or NO.

  12. Poll Breakdown so far: (note:*= same person-a,b,c,etc.)

    Allow Post: 1*a .....total vote =  1

    Allow to berate: 1*a....total vote = 1

    Not berate: 1*b.....total vote 1 = 1

Warn in selling thread: 1*b....total vote =1

Not allowed to post if HOS listed: 1 + 1*c....total vote =  2

    Can't pm: 1*c + 1*e....total vote =  2

    Maybe custom title: 1*d + 1*c...total vote =  2

    No posting-ban: 1

Ban but rejoin after taking appropriate contrition steps: 1*c....total vote = 1

So, 7 individual responses, 5 persons responded with more than 1 response choice.

At this point, in my opinion, there is not enough membership response to form a consensus.
