I just got my 2 books signed by Eastman back from CGC...
-
-
I sent in 2 books for Eastman the week before the cutoff, one magazine sized and one standard sized. Both to be pressed. The magazine currently shows a status of “grading / quality control”. The standard sized has a status of “received”. CGC may have split them up due to them being different sized books.

You were able to use FedEx? I went to FedEx and they stated that they do not deliver to PO Boxes.
I shipped mine out today Priority because overnight was 100 bucks. I am rolling the dice here but my main issue is that I totally forgot to write the letters for the signing on the box. I have tried to contact CGC via phone and a post on the boards, still waiting.
Yeah, CGC told me to use their 5501 communications parkway address since I was shipping it FedEx. You should hopefully be fine using USPS priority. If for some reason it doesn’t get there by Monday I would just call them to see if they could accommodate you (given their IT issue).
I almost forgot about writing the initials too until I was reminded by the CGC rep. But I am sure many people forgot to write it, so It probably happens all the time.

So it looks like the online form is working again, at least it worked for me. I also called CGC and they said they may push back the current cutoff date due to this issue, but wasn’t certain yet on this decision.
Also, FYI, I ended up using FedEx ground and they said it should be there this week, so that could be a good option for quick shipping depending on where you live.

The sad thing is that I have had others today in a few groups literally take screen shots of their submission form page and they have it. It looks like the issue is with free accounts and not the paid ones.
Oh OK. That was not shared with me when I called CGC yesterday, But that makes more sense because I really thought something like that would have been mentioned all over the boards if it was effecting everybody.
Thanks for the additional info.

I had everything ready to go and just needed to do the submission form and it does not give me a drop down menu option for any of the signings. I have used three different web browsers, my phone, two different computers and a tablet. I have even created a second free account and even that does not give me a drop down menu option for the signings.
I was hoping to get this down there by the 15th. But, it looks like I won't be able to because of an issue with CGC's site and/or my account.
I was having a similar issue. I tried to do this yesterday (Friday 2/5) and had no option to select the signer. I actually called CGC and they told me their submission forms were down for (all) their private signings and their IT department was going to take a look at it. They told me to check back in a few hours, but said it might not be fixed until Monday (2/8). Clearly it was never fixed yesterday, so i am hoping for Monday. Seems like this will be cutting it really close to the cutoff date of 2/15 now for Eastman and Bishop. I am kicking myself for waiting this long, knowing that some expedited shipping method may now be needed.

Happy belated Birthday to a comic artist legend !!!

Hi, the signature looks like Michael Dooney.
Since cgc did not witness the signing they will not label it as a signature series.
I don’t know how you should proceed with pressing or grading, but I think the book is cool as is. -
Casey,
Perfect transaction, thanks much!

Hey Mods.....maybe its time for this thread to get a place near the top of the list....maybe a little bias on my part
That would be OK with me

I know this is a Signature Series book, but I wanted to post it and thank Mick (Comic1) for getting this done for me at this year's SD Con. I am very grateful to him! I emailed him out of the blue asking for a big favor and he took several of my DC war books to get the awesome Russ Heath to sign them! Thanks buddy!

Very nice, buddy!

not alot of book, but i was missing a 9.8 gaines copy since completing bedrock's frontline combat run with my old one, and this one was cheap.
I need one of those to start my new run
No one talks about Fight Club!
thats the first rule!

Thanks, ngh81!
I don't think this is the Diamond run copy. It wasn't sold to me as such.
What makes you think it might be?
I went to the Baltimore show last month and paged through the diamond run copy. Your description of the condition of the copy you bought seemed very similar to what i remember looking at in baltimore. But that could just be a coincidence.
Unfortunately though i do not remember the dealer who had it for sale when i paged though it in baltimore.

Great books, Fay!
Here's my NYCC pickups.
Beat but complete, hanging onto the staples by the skin of its teeth...
Anybody else have a copy of OAAW 82 with that strange printing error on the SMG?
Nice!
Just curious ... is this the diamond run copy?

Ebay Final Value Fee - WTF!!!
in Comics General
Posted
I am a numbers guy, and noticed that eBay took a little bit more than I was expecting out of an item that I sold last month. I called them to get clarification and was told about the fee being taken out of the sales tax. The rep told me that this is a known concern and is currently being looked at internally. The rep led me to believe that at some point in the future there will be more transparency with this when viewing/calculating seller fees. But I wouldn’t hold my breath...
