  1. NOTE: Five last minute deals in final post!

Some great books for sale. And, before buying, please be aware of the rules:

    RULES

    1. Feel free to PM, but know that a :takeit :in the thread (or PM) will trump any PM conversations.

    2. Shipping will USPS at at exact cost and will depend on number of books being shipped and how you'd like them shipped (Express or Economy)

    3. Paypal accepted and payment is expected within 3 days unless other arrangements have been made.

    4. No one on the probation list or any such list.

    5. I'll likely wait to close this thread before shipping the books, and then ship all at once, and thread will close in a week if not sooner. Thanks for your understanding.

    6. I dol not accept returns, but if something goes wrong, we'll find a way to come up with a reasonable solution together.

    7. Books are generally 9.2 to 9.6, and were bought by me from sellers who made this assurance to me. I think, in most cases they are accurate. An occasional (non-key) in a run may be slightly lower grade.

    8. I've tried to price books below recent sales on Ebay, so hopefully these books sell quickly.

  2. Tec 27 on Clink (Blue 2.5) for $450K

It's been a while since I recall seeing a complete, blue-label copy of Tec 27 up for sale at auction or online.

Perhaps that motivated this new listing on Clink

    Tec 27 on Clink

Pretty big price, pretty (and big) book.

If not for the spine split, my hunch is it would grade notably higher (4.5?)...

    Thoughts? Comments?

  3. I quite enjoyed it

Gator would you say it was the Superman mythos that is a sore spot with these critics?

I haven`t met anyone yet that didn`t enjoy Ben Affleck as Batman or Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

It seems to be the Superman stuff like Lex Luthor and Doomsday that is throwing critics in a tiff.

Let`s face it the next solo Ben Affleck Batman movie will do an easy 1 billion box office.

    Batman`s future is secure.

    Superman`s I don`t know.

You've now met someone who did not enjoy Ben Affleck as Batman. I kept wishing Jeremy Irons/Alfred would kill Ben Afflck/Bruce Wayne and take over the mantle of Batman.

  4. Good gosh, just saw the movie.

Now, to start, I'm a DC guy far more than a Marvel one, I'd read a number of reviews, and I walked in with low expectations, thinking I'd have a good time…

… but instead I found more melodrama than a soap opera, a Batman who seemed to brood for no reason and talked like a pot-smoking vampire; a Superman who was stiff as a board; and a WW who was easy on the eyes but whose presence seemed pointless…

… and don't get me started on Lex Luthor or Doomsday, who were just plain silly…

… or a plot line with more holes than swiss cheese, one that gave me no reason to see why Batman was fighting Superman in the first place… and the reason they stopped fighting, oh my…

needless to say, I wish had the rose colored glasses to experience this as a 7 on 10, but even wearing 3D glasses, it was far closer to a 2 than anything else...

I'm sad to see characters I love so underdeveloped and overdramatized...

  5. But across the board, prices still seem stable or even stronger in some titles , while others do seem to have softened and continue to soften

Rick, where do you see More Fun and Adventure in the stronger vs softening price category?

  6. Gator, wandering around a neighborhood con, I overheard a guy asking around for a copy of All-Star 8. I don't know if it was his young age, or the bored girlfriend in tow, but I wondered if he understood what he was asking for.

I understand that every request is an opportunity, but when someone asks you for a big book, how often are they serious and ready to buy, as opposed to someone who balks when you produce it?

Can't always judge a book by it's cover. I saw a kid about 14 with his mom at a recent show who was checking out a TOS #39. It was pretty rough and priced at $1400. in Terry O'Neil's booth. Nice kid and seemed very knowledgeable. Kid had a few nice early slabbed Spideys. Terry gave him a bit of a break and the kid gave up the two Spidey's and about $600. of his own money. Nice to see the younger crowd into comics. Terry and I both agreed that we would both give a kid like that a real good deal. You want him to have a positive experience.

I wish I'd met you when I was 14. Instead, I met a bad man who basically charged me double guide for early Spidey's. Needless to say, I found out later he's got a terrible reputation - still does. Sad that these guys are out there - glad we've got folks like you and GATor to restore my faith.

  7. Hi Rick,

What are the biggest GA keys that you'll have with you at NYCC?

    Thanks,

    --David

new mutants 98, batman adventure 12, .... Oh wait. You said golden age lol

    Didn't you hear, I'm a copper/bronze guy now. lol

Somehow, C.A./B.A.tor doesn't have the same ring to it....

  8. GAtor, why does God hate my Dallas Cowboys this year?

After a good year last year, and a promise of good things to come, suddenly our QB is out, our number 1 WR is out, our number 1 or 2 RB is out, our number 1 defense player suffered a concussion tonight, our star-rookie DL is out, and the list goes on.

It's like playing with both arms tied behind your back. Blindfolded. With your shoelaces tied together. And with a wedgie. While suffering from the black plague.

    Can you fix this?

ive heard the CFL is pretty exciting.

I knew I could turn to you for wisdom. :signfunny:

Well, I am from Canada, so I guess it's CFL and the Blue Jays for me.
