You clearly live in the right area code...

Technically, it's a second printing of UXM 270.
Actually, CGC has decided on books like this, that the cover decides what the book is, not the interior.
This is UXM 272 with the wrong inards
not
UXM 270 2nd printing with the wrong cover.
according to CGC anyways.
Not that it couldnt be looked at either way. But CGC has decided to list books like this by the cover.
I would think the later of the two should be "what it is" because you can always use old parts from the past. You can't always use new parts FROM THE FUTURE

Avengers 181 is on fire.
It's hot for sure but I'm not seeing any recent bump...
Actually there's a huge bump in the number of Avengers 181 sold compared to last week.
If the price doesn't go up, that just tells me people are selling them too cheap. You can sell a lot of books that way...

The end of the Copper Age has a specific date - November 18, 1992. Superman 75 release date.
You mean Nov 20, 1992.
No. November 18, 1992. I remember that day well. Hal, the owner of The Bookie had the armband on...
I got my single allowed copy and promptly found a newsstand copy at Shop Rite...
RIP Copper Age

Why do people suddenly care about Brother Voodoo? I guess I'm out of the loop on this one.
+1
Why are these books hot??? I haven't heard anything...

Timely payment and easy to deal with. (thumbs u
Enjoy the book and thanks again!

When did the term "retcon" has been coined?
No idea, but it's been around for a long time, back to when novelists used to change their character's backstory in subsequent books.
Probably right after the first retroactive change in continuity.

How about star wars 1?

Looks like someone got a hold of a copy for a sweet deal...

Congrats to that buyer!

Passed on a few decent copies of Avengers 181 a month ago since it hadn't grown legs yet and I didn't think it was going to
Funny how there's another key #181, however fleeting it may be
Hulk 181 (1st full Wolverine)
Daredevil 181 (Death of Elektra)
Strange Tales 181 (1st full Gamora)
Avengers 181 (1st Scott Lang)
sure there's more to add to the list
Batman 181 (Poison Ivy)
-
I personally like Scott Lang as Ant-Man so I was hyped but I am more of a Bronze/copper person just because that is what I grew up with. I always associate Henry as yellowjacket.
Wow - seriously? I guess I'm just a traditionalist. Whatever costume Hank Pym put on, he was always Antman to me.
And Pym was also Antman during the BA, like in the Avengers Ultron issues.
Nice 35 cent price variant you have there (thumbs u

Oh god, there's two of them??
Plainville show on the 29th
I'll be there...
-
I would like to also add that with these 30 and 35 cent books that Harder to Find don't mean $1000+ price tags.
… recalculating…...
Tempting. Sooooooo tempting.
Tree-fiddy?

So you're the one that won that auction! Congrats!

X-Men 283
I'd also like that Tomb of Darkness 20 on eBay...even for more than $5...That's why I'm the high bidder...
-
Surprised there was not more talk about these EBAY Auction, I guess people were observing Rule 1.
I was the under bidder on this one and a tad shocked not to win.

My Bid here but got blown out of the water.

Bid MOAR
I know the odds of finding one of these in the wild is uber slim, but at those prices I was happy to lose.
But if you do its so much sweeter.
Hard to argue with finding a rare price variant cheap. I've done it a couple times and of course, its awesome. But those Rawhide kid issues aren't in abundance and the market has said over and over, now, 134 even in low grade is a crazy book. I was not surprised by its price. Good luck finding a cheaper copy (thumbs u

Not surprised to hear it - blazing bob is among the best there is. :-) congrats on your nice book!!!

So this book was one of my grail books. It really stood out when a boardie (apologies for forgetting who the particular boardie was) sold a high grade run of most Mystery Tales issues sometime over the past year or two. These books were flying out with most having several :takeit:'s coming through in seconds after being posted. Among all those covers, this one was the coolest to me. I have wanted a copy ever since. The other day, I managed to track down a copy...
The books looks great in hand. What colors! I'm very happy to be a part of this exclusive club. I also saw that one was just posted on ebay with a buy it now of $10,000!
If you want to take a look at that issue it can be found here:

Anybody else out there have a sweet copy of this awesome book? Or any other Mystery Tales you wanna show off?
Congrats on your book, peterpark -- looks like a book from Blazing Bob, if I recognize the handwriting on the price sticker.
Sorry that happened with one of your books, Scott -- if/when I sell things, it doesn't pay to look back, I just consider it... gone.
Highgradecomics.com really came through for me there!

Anyone notice there are now two graded copies of Scooby Doo 1? I think the 8.5 was the motor city copy but now there is a 7.0 too! If anyone has a lower grade copy they are now looking to move, I am very interested...
