  1. There has been, and will be, a lot of hype surrounding an upcoming JLA movie. It gets mentioned a lot in articles about MOS and will only continue over time as another Avengers comes out and people inevitably ask the question about when the JLA will make their appearance.

I have to agree that the demand for this book will continue to increase over the next couple of years - most of it on the backs of speculators. If and when the movie comes out, its quality will determine the direction the book goes from that point.

The question is will the price go to a point where collectors become willing to part with their copies (as opposed to speculators), bringing more copies into the marketplace?

  2. I've been watching that auction from the beginning.

At this point, its getting close to being out of my range, but with a little under 4 hours to go, you have to wonder if there are a few people just waiting and the price will shoot up.

You just don't see a key issue like this one, in such a scarce high grade, coming up very often.

  3. Hmmm...

If the underbidder didn't get the 9.4, why would he (or she) want to sell their 9.2?

Don't you mean if the winner has a nice 9.2, he should contact you? hm

because i already own a 9.4 and at that price would be happy to downgrade to a 9.2

Ahhh...it is all much clearer to me now. It never occurred to me because I don't know the meaning of the word "downgrade" only upgrade :headbang:

  4. Perhaps they just got caught up in the "fever" of the auction - all it takes is 2 people who want those issues to drive up the price.

I purchased a #28 a few months back in the same grade for well under half what was paid this time around - but I really think that with the high grades of other issues in the auction that it actually drove up the price.

Besides, unless issues are added between now and the next auction on Jan 11/12, there is nothing of interest to bid on Comiclink next time around.

  5. There was some serious bidding going on last night.

I was keyed in on a couple of JLAs in particular and just couldn't get it done in either case.

I wasn't bidding on the ones Tim mentioned, but #29 in particular was REALLY wanted by someone.as they ripped it from my grip in the last few seconds doh!

Oh well, I'm sure another one will come along sooner or later.
