  1. I forgot but here's the sweet comic box (and glass)
  2. Another one of the better ones. With the bullet through the head cover. Clumsy , but he did say "get down!" . . . Beautiful.
  3. Here's one of the high grade issues.
  4. Here are the Harvey's 25-145 and 4 giveaways. Missing issue 90. As I went through them from issues 40-120 about half are in incredible condition. The other item is that there are some pretty gruesome covers. Bullets through heads, blood coming out the ear, people on fire. Pre code of course. Pretty much every issue has somebody getting b1tch slapped or shot at.
  5. The Tracy collection. Here are the Dells 1-24 and some random FC and Feature books on top.
  6. Sorry to disappoint but I don't actually collect JP. I bought a collection from an old timer I met at church. He had this, a full run of Tracy (regular, only a few Features and FC's) and a spotty run on Lone Rangers. It was a sweet collection. He was really into it in the 80's and quite of few of the (nicer) books are from Sparkle City. His main thing was Tracy though, I'll post those in a bit. The best part of the Tracy run is he had a comic box designed for those made of wood and felt interior. Unreal. Ed
  7. And a phenominal torture cover not even broken out in guide. Palookas deservedly get no respect, and they are pretty much short bus material. But come on, - this is a fantastic cover.
  8. Here's issue 62 one of the better conditioned copies and a semi key with S&K story. There are about 20 that look like this the rest are ok.
  9. Not quite Detectives and more in line with the Funny Stuff Collection. How many have seen a full run (missing issue 2 from vol 1 and issue 117) of Joe Palooka. Some of the issues in the middle are very high grade. The Adventure line and the Commie torture covers are sweet. I threw in some Big Shot to round out the pic. Furthest one on the right is the Hitler Tojo mask cover
  10. Boy those file stamps are annoying as all he11. Nice copies otherwise, as per.
  11. I think calling it a Fine is about right. PCE used to have their own grading system where 4.0 was a Fine. Ed
  12. Here's a couple more without the drama. Good quality midgrades
  13. Bought this off ebay and cracked it out and sold it to herald2galactus who then traded me for a JIM 85 who then returned the JIM 85 for something else and some cash, I can't remember. So during his troubles, it actually worked out, I just hope he gets it back together. Here's the issue 2 cracked out a second time. It is a Qualified 6.0 since the 1 page ad is married. No reason to keep it encased.
  14. I forgot to put these scans in the thread they belong. Part of an OO collection where nearly all the covers had a tanning halo. I was very very happy bringing these home.... in a box with no bags or boards. I drove and turned very slowly that evening.
  15. Here's a 371 that bullet missed and why not post a 386 again. One of the great covers and key issues in comics. Makes me want to burrow like a gopher.....
  16. Top goofiest things to happen to Flash on a cover He gets a monstrous head He becomes fat He has his legs switched He becomes a robot He gets turned into a mirror He shrinks to nothing He runs out of a video of himself He runs so fast he flies.
  17. I need a Real Life #3. Been looking for a decent copy for years. Bob Beerbohm had a VG for $1000 a few months ago. linkaroni Obviously a sweet Hitler cover but is it also known as a concentration camp cover? Probably not in the same vein as the Captain America comic but how many WWII era books even highlight the concentration camps?
  18. That background color is beautiful. I'm trying to think which other books might have featured the same? Is this close? The Jimmy Olsen is pretty exact. Well done, Silver. I was checking Superman #144, Adventure #271, Superboy #78, #86 but all are a bit different. Lois Lane #33 could match but I can't post it here as it's a 12c book. That Flash in 9.0 stands alone as the single best graded by far. It just shows how difficult some books are to find in grade. I agree Ian. I would replace that Jimmy Olsen in a heartbeat with a better copy if I could find one. And while this is NOT a 10 center...I think it has that same color. Those purple books in high grade are just Yes, I realize that I have blasphemied the 10 cent forum with this lowly 12 center....but we were talking about cover colors Sorry to sully this thread with these low graders but at least they have 10 cent covers. Same purple no? Must have had a sale that year.
  19. What no showcases either? This crappy copy will have to do until its replaced. Its the best I can do and my only silver flash. Where's esquire's copy when you need it.
