  1. While we're at it, Any double covers? And dang it, any way to see the top edge as well to any of these or at least future scans.
  2. I too am impressed with the FC 4, what a great cover and I also hope its in the ball park of VF, it sure looks it from here. Ed
  3. Nice Keen Detectives WOW. This just came in, highest single census is a 5.5 and this is tough to get in anything above VG. Great back cover gag too.
  4. Bangzoom is really Steve Geppi. Washington DC, monster GA collection, dry wit. It all makes sense now.
  5. Pluto has always acted pet like. Don't mix him up with goofy - also a dog.
  6. I'm guessing the average grade is going to be F to VF but with so many books all of which appear to look very nice, there are bound to be some NM- or better and probably among some of the keys as well. The group pics are fantastic but a couple scans like there were earlier would be great too.
  7. Indeed. Thats a great issue 7.
  8. Posted this in the Duck thread but when you want to show off a book you want to show aff a book.
  9. Its not Donald Duck but it is the first appearance of Daffy Duck (ignore the Hunt for Daffy story book - stupid Overstreet) Oh yeah, first Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig , Elmer Fudd, Petunia Pig , Sniffles etc. But this is a Duck thread after all.
  10. There look to be quite a collection of pulps and magazines in there as well.
  11. I don't see anything wrong with making an offer. I love when folks make offers on books I show off. I either get to negotiate for a deal which is good or simply decline and stay happy with the books I have. I'm sure folks are re-living the scenario where you're 15 years old in the LCS and someone walks in with a collection of sweet Silver Age Spiderman which the owner buys for peanuts. You keep your mouth shut and then he starts marking them with $100 stickers in front of you all the while with a eating grin on his face.
  12. Indeed. Any Disney's or other Dells? I can't wait to see some crappy King Comics 28 sandwiched between a Superman 1 and a Tec 35.
  13. I also agree about the buzz but that may be only because we remember the buzz. Its not like any of the major pedigree's haven't continued to go up and up in value over even the last 5 years, especially the very nice copies. Granted the market in general has gone up so its tough to make comparrisons but I do remember the pedigee out of California around 2000 went for, at the time, record prices but today would (and do) go for 2 to 3 times what they originally sold. I refuse to believe that if has this collection Pedigree'd that no matter how many images he creates, he won't be able to name his price on many of these books. Ed
  14. This whole thread makes me very happy. Anyone else clicking the refresh button?
  15. Is that FC 4 the copy just sold by bigloo on ebay?
  16. I say keep them as is forever and write a good will. Who needs CGC unless you plan to sell. If you plan to sell, best thing you can do is get them pedigreed and sell them yourself on ebay or hire someone to set up your own website. At 1000 books even if they start to get "worse" (ie Feature , Popular, etc) you are seriously looking at nearly $1,000,000 in comics and more if you have a Tec 27 in grade (which I feel is coming). I feel kind of dumb profering advice, just hope no jackals snarf a couple up from you. BTW, please allow for the entire comic to show in the scanner, its nice to be blown away by a book and not have to wonder if there is any little glitch where you can't see. Plus poor Ebayers are notorious for cropping images of low grade books and making them look like they are "sharp" This isn't the case with your books, clearly but these gems aren't being presented in their best light. Actually, they look great all except for the top edge. I'm shocked by the Adventure 40 but those Weekly's are pretty sick too. Not a collection you see everyday and especially one that hasn't been bought by a major dealer. Great to see the original finder showing them off. Ed
  17. Scrooge, Is the Joe Palooka review coming? I wanted to see what you said about the Commie book you bought from me. Thread needs a bump anyway. Just say no to Pre Robin Tecs....sheesh.
  18. It is Bronze war after all. OK a crappy comic but high grade. We needed a DC break anyway.
  19. Selling in a - every books has a price - kind of way. As opposed to needing the money. I'll give it a month and take it down if it doesn't sell. I like that the book is protected by a CGC case much more than the potential for disaster taking the book out of mylar every so often. Another benefit of CGC is the temptation to handle the book is much smaller. Ed
  20. I was pretty happy with the results of this.
  21. Ed please post the CGC version if you could. Here's the final result.
