  1. This is more a Silver Age variant question/comment but I figure it'd get more traffic and interest here. I have a Mickey Mouse 84 from 1962 in this ebay auction and I have gotten the similar question about the interior ads from three different folks. Here it is copied. "Q: Please inform me if on inside front cover there is a gag page of "Mickey Mouse (Pluto fans Mickey) or there is all advertisement of "Walt Disney characters by Mother Hubbard dept.N.Y. Grazie Giuseppe" Ebay link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400143796493 So clearly there are two versions and I wondered if anyone was aware of this, had any info, or collected these variants. The version I have appears to be the common version. It's also possible one version is Canadian, which would be an interesting possibility if there was a 12/15 cent Dell that also have different interiors for each pricing. And it could be shown somehow that all versions with different interiors were Canadian. Just speculating as a way to play detective.
  2. I'm in Bills camp. The timing of these issues being right around the change from 12 to 15 cents is simply too convenient. While somewhat related, I do remember that Dell had a few years around 1960 where they had 15 cent comics for all years. I think this was before they reduced the size of the comics they were producing.
  3. So what do you think, is 113 Frazetta?
  4. I have a coverless Marvel Mystery 87 missing first two wraps but with centerfold and a Namora 3, same thing, missing first two wraps but with centerfold.
  5. Crackajack Funnies 39 1st Andy Panda (and supporting cast) The cover is the Ohio copy CGC 9.2, interior from a reader.
  6. Anyone have a pic of the cover to this book? What "Funnies" book is this? Funnies was an early Dell line that had typical mindless newspaper funnies up to issue 34 then had John Carter, Phantasmo and Captain Midnight up to issue 63. Then they came out with issue 64 which had the cartoon theme cover. Changed the name to New Funnies with issue 65 (another tough issue to find) which was an Andy Panda / Woody Woodpecker themed book from then on. 4 copies of this book have been graded, this being the highest at 6.0. Though most of the issues usually have less than 5 graded as well, at least those are Mile High or other pedigree types 9.0 and better. There have been a few bound books of New Funnies with issues 66 to 77 which tells me that 65 didn't have normal distribution. I believe the same is true for issues 52-63 on the Funnies side where 64 is missing.
  7. I agree, some of the Terry Toons covers are pretty tasty, especially for funny animal. Issue 42 and 58 come to mind. Forgot to list this one. Terry Toons 50 interior page - 1st Heckle Jeckle.
  8. Got this from heritage a few weeks ago. Love the composition of Moldoffs first Hawkman cover. And who doesn't love a Green dress damsel in distress.
  9. First Woody Woodpecker from Funnies 64 First Mighty Mouse from Terry Toons 38
  10. Very nice. I only have a couple of Frontier Fighters. I do have 1-8 of the Legend of Daniel Boone though. Here's a fairly nice FF that I do have From a couple pages back, but here's my Frontier Fighters 1
  11. Sold these three within the past few weeks for the following Fair - $250 offline from ebay Fair - $306 completed on ebay with no reserve and low starting price. Good - $480 here on the boards. Like all hot mega keys, low grade issues will always sell for decent prices. Come to think of it, I suppose mid and high grade will too.
  12. These two are nice low grade ones Shameless plug I have them up on ebay
  13. Here's a few Four Colors, plus Chief before it became Indian Chief.
  14. This picture was originally labeled July 1941. Any ideas? Sampson.
  15. One of the nicer earlier issues
  16. I wanted to show these high grade issues off. Came in a 90% complete run from 1-150. CGC seems to show minimal copies graded. Is that due to rarity, higher grades, low prices, collector preference, or all of the above?
  17. Here's issue 5, tough to book to find in grade or otherwise.
  18. Just bought this collection of a near complete run of House of Mystery's 1-150 Shown below is 1-80. Wasn't cheap but some of these are the nicest I've seen. I'll scan a few too.
