  1. More Bugs FC 51 BTW whose going to sort all the pics to get the 1300?
  2. In issue 15 (?) in the interior there's a panel that has this exact image. Kind of a nifty tid bit of worthless info. Ever wonder how the Disney characters are animals yet they are always messing around and getting messed with "real" animals? Always loved how Barks made most people in Duckburg sort of Dog faced.
  3. Yup nor are there HG of any of the Barks Ducks it seems. He commented though that he gave up a VG 282 which can pretty easily be found for under $75 I would think. I think the multiples from low grade to high grade are the greatest for the cartoon book genre. Some of these can be had for $10 or $20 in G and then $1000 or $2000 in 9.2 or 9.4. Crazy Ed
  4. And then after that self torture, what do you do for an encore, find every variation? After the great comic crash, I'll start in with a vengeance. Ed
  5. Also from the 60's this is more a Pro-Communist "comic" How to Shoot an Airplane. Printed in China in the 1960's. BTW if anyone knows much about shooting, the odds of actually hitting a plane with a rifle where it would actually do any damage to a military fighter or bomber are pretty much zero. Link Here's the front pic.
  6. I think there really is no such thing as a variant with the MOCs. Most folks only buy the individual characters instead of MOC as a whole so the interest in variants would probably be low. I do agree however that in general they are pretty uncommon. The main problem is that most folks just don't buy them at all with certain exceptions. Anyone trying to get a VF run of MOC's would be a serious glutton for punishment. Even Fine or better. Like the Cheerios giveaways I think fraudulant trimming is more of a problem with these books than with "regular" comics due to the paper quality and the difficulty in determining a trim job. Doesn't MOC 69 have a one page by Barks? All in all it seems like a fair trade unless you just can't stand Donalds not drawn by the man. Here's a MOC 41 and another one from ebay. Also with different stores at the top. It would be interesting to see the numbers and examples of stores using MOC, but I can't imagine much of a difference in price.
  7. Two very neat horror books I just picked up that aren't seen everyday.
  8. Just sold to a board member but worth a look. Always a classic.
  9. Gossamer (Rudolph as well) Wiki link Nothing like Monster-In-a-Can
  10. The ebay auction here described the book with "paper damage to two pages of the Batman story " so I was worried that pieces were missing. It was just two tears going into the panels which I can more than deal with. DK, if the panel art had been missing I was going to ask if there would be a way to join the better cover with the better more complete interior. I like the marriage aspect to create a complete book out of two lower grades. The second page shown is as bad as it gets and this interior matches the covers flaws. Well enough of my story. Here's the splash and back page ad - I see a Flash 7 but couldn't id the others. I like the Ultraman (pre Green Lantern) for All American. Here's the bloody panel page as well. I think Robin would have fainted if he'd been around.
  11. Just got this in today. Horrible spine roll, half the spine split, cover loose, centerfold loose at top staple and 5 hole punches at the top. But there's no tape, no ink markings, no pieces missing and no restoration. My first pre Robin Detective and I really enjoyed the blood, death, and gore in the Batman story. Plus Batman gets clocked by a regular thug. Sweet stuff.
  12. Just bought this from GA collectibles - thank you sir, may I have another.
  13. Superman 2. An 8.0 key is unheard of. A 9.2 like Superman 2 is just mind boggling. The white pages, relative scarcity and HGC put it over the top. Batman 1 is probably the most common high value GA key. Its nice that the #2 isn't some BS cover as well - I like the composition.
  14. Spec Spidey 2 is required reading. Its referred to about 10 times in the run from 41 to 80 with a couple Green Goblin panels and Osborn going nutso type stuff and the mag comes out you get no Goblin until issue 96. The main problem is it doesn't fit well in any boxes. Good news is a high grade raw will probably only run you $60-$100. Even CGC copies in 9.6 only cost $3-400 or so.
  15. Adv of Riggin Bill is listed but I couldn't find the other one. As you can imagine they aren't worth a heck of a lot. Thus..... the short bus. Drrrrrrrr Drrrrrrr
  16. Good show selegue, Here are my similar copies. These are more digest size too if you couldn't tell from the scans.
  17. Here's a nice MLJ headlight cover giving Archie 50 a run for its money. Couldn't sell it for $12 on ebay though.
  18. When you sell just put in "CGC it!" or "CGC candidate" that should do the trick.
  19. asm157 - love the old price tags still on the bag. One of the better Doc Ock covers. I give #3 the nod just as a classic. And 55 has to rank up there. Take away the word balloons and this one rocks.
