  1. I trimmed the top edge off of a Spidey 14 since I didn't like the overhang. I bought it for $54 back in 86 as a "NM" and 10% discount off the $60 price. It was probably a VF+ unrestored and I sold it for nearly $600 fully disclosed about 3 years ago. Not a sob story but sad none the less. A few years ago I bought a collection of Avengers and X-men and didn't look through then very closely but made a lowball offer which the seller accepted. It turned out that there were about ten 12 cent Avengers that graded 9.2 or better and about 20 Bronze X-men grading 9.4 or better. There were also hardback books from the 70's and by Frazetta and other artists of his ilk. The capper was an FF 48 in VF with signatures from Stan Lee and Jack Kirby on the interior. I added Sinnott later. Ed
  2. Perfect low grade. If you don't pop it out of the CGC case you don't have any hair on your sack.
  3. A wonderfully boring 10 cent Wonder Woman.
  4. Thanks to the buyer who bought the WDCS 47 off of comiclink.
  5. You always hear about "Great gloss on cover" but this book had it - now its hidden forever
  6. Here's a double cover nn (#1) Chief Crazy Horse from 1950. Not the most desirable book but uncommon enough.
  7. Great issue, love the cartoon minor keys - so hard to find. Here is an Archie and Me #1 and a Madhouse 33 (Early Sabrina Appearance)
  8. Who's selling off Detectives on Comiclink - thats a nice group of books.
  9. They really don't which is why even though the art and stories usually (not always) aren't that good, 9.2 and above will command serious cash. Ed
  10. Just got the Bugs Bunny in. I'd rather have an 8.0 but this'll do until the eventual upgrade. And thanks for nothing Chuck Mc-See.
  11. You cut out a strip from the back cover and slid it into the dotted lines making the shark "open and close" his mout or Donalds eyes move up and down. If you were old enough to manipulate the paper and scissors you probably thought it was pretty foolish anyway. I have never seen a book with the dotted lines or the strip cut out.
  12. A nice lot of ducks appeared in my stocking. Thanks Santa.
  13. I just want to say the the "animation" Duck covers suck. I can only wish the Magic Hourglass had a worthy cover similar to "Golden Helmet", one of the better Barks stories IMHO. Why couldn't they have left that affect for the Mickey Mouse comics?
  14. I'm having such a good time going through this collection, I had to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
  15. This just in - part of an Original Owner collection. If only the rest were as nice.
  16. I sold an issue 23 in CGC 8.0 OW to W on comiclink for $2200 last year. Someone bought issue 13 17 21 23 24 and 29 all in one shot. BTW the Hertiage 8.5 is the same issue as the 8.0 but it was a resub (press?). As I recall it had some writing on the cover that interrupted the Superman title.
  17. I'm quitting Superman!!, because of your overbearing attitude! . . . . . . ()
  18. Just got a sweet score for an old Bugs Bunny about the price to get it graded. And, 3rd highest census (of 3 graded)!!! Bugs Bunny FC 164
  19. Thanks RHG, I mostly look for the pre 500 Four Colors but the #30 seemed like a reasonable extension. I wonder how many file copies are out there of any of these issues.
  20. Fun when you collect a title no one else does, there's nothing to talk about, but the prices are right. I do enjoy owning these nice but impossible to find issues. For $100 it seems worth it at 30% above guide. Anyone have any elder Warner Bros file comics? And not a Dallas Stephens to boot.

  22. Notice the fairies are the same ones that the Pini's use in Elfquest. Check out the Mask #1 in Heritage and the description shows up as "copy owned by Wendy Pini" Kind of cool.
