  1. Sorry to hear that I honestly thought he was sorry that you were keeping the FC 178. Its a book I'd love to have a shot at. Ed
  2. I assume there is resto done on the book but HMOG thats a great item. BTW, where can I get a green suit like that. I wanna look like a gangster.
  3. Kudos to Rich Henn for dropping by and picking up the books in person.
  4. I wondered how a 1940s book with such a classic cover in 9.4 could sell so low. Details on the find?
  5. Grat cover, reminds me of that classic World War cartoon (which I believe was the first cartoon to win an oscar) where the humans all die and the last two alive have the gas masks on and both kill each other. Leaving the world to all the cute woodland animals living in Communistic bliss.
  6. This just in - Repatriated in trade from Europe. Of course he got some other Disneys from me, but I like the high grade Kelly covers.
  7. Extremely impressive. Both the piece and the price. Damn Europeans.
  8. I think the 8.0 qualified copy on pedigree is a bargain given the notes. I bet the owner would take a grand if offered. Action 59
  9. Throw in a dollap of nostalgia, and a teaspoon of minimum grade (cost dependent) and there's my Bugs Bunny approach. I do understand the motivation to focus on scarcity. Its one of the reasons I get down on Silver Age on up that have been graded. In almost any grade, its not as if another one won't be available shortly. Value vs Scarcity I don't use that as much. The obvious here - that value is subjective to yourself. I value the Cartoon books much higher than the market but when I see an All Star 3 vs a Wonder #1 the All Star is easily the more impressive book to me even at the higher cost. The other reason I don't focus on scarcity is an issue with "one of a kind" items. These are tough to value and to me (an others I think) it loses some excitement because its a loner type collecitble with little sharing appreciation.
  10. Some others Brave and Bold Superman Conan Flash Gordon and Star Wars 1
  11. I know, but these are impossible to price and the guide is useless. The only answer is to CGC it and put it up on ebay. Alos, I know the feeling of just wishing you could not have to worry about getting outbid on the bay even if you are willing to pay FMV. Plus I don't want to ask $200 for a $20 book, nor do I want to sell a $200 book for $20. Add to that, the minute anything sells, I have instant sellers remorse..... Ed
  12. Black cover 50 in pretty good shape.
  13. And a 30 cent variant. I'm really not sure which of these are rare and which aren't but I kind of like them and they represent Baltimore well, especially with so many of them. Plus they show the later 70's conditions well without being an average uninteresting book.
  14. Definitely no Sgt Fury's. I doubt there are Weird Wonder tales or T of Darness but I could have missed those runs as I went through the boxes pretty quick and took out keys to scan more than anything else.
  15. For now those two are in one of the bottom boxes. But here's one I missed on the initial run through. Highest graded copy is a 9.0, if not for the 1/4 inch tear on the back cover it could have had a shot.
  16. By alphabetical order Adams hasn't come up yet, plus he was more DC than Marvel. I had a few Blue Ribbon Digest up for sale that had his work, but since you asked twice (and I have it photbucketed) here's a sweet Giant. Besides Avengers, X-men and Spotlight 2 coming up, I can't remember what else has he done for Marvel.
  17. Ghost Rider 2: late Silver but very neat in high grade.
