  1. Two Balti-cons ago they had most of the King Comics, Ace Comics and other low value books unslabbed and at guide. Most in the 5.0 to 8.0 range, I bought the best one I could find - a King #24 in 8.5, kind of neat.
  2. Great Porky Pig comics, very much appreciated. The best of the funny animal books - where else can you get original Warner Bros character material from the 40's and 50's without paying huge for it.
  3. Thats hilarious. Did anyone try to get the seller to "end the auction early?" I suppose the going rate for an undisclosed conditioned western variant is $80 to $90 - no?
  4. New York City... if you can make it there you can make it anywhere.
  5. OK so its not a duck but the Porky Pig story by Barks is an interesting book, I've never heard why he did this book or even why he was allowed to by Disney. Surprising that this VG book 3 bidders over $250. Porky Pig FC 48 on ebay Makes me that much happier with the copy I just bought
  6. To whomerjay for the low grade Mask 1 and some DC's - Easy sale.
  7. For those that don't peruse the Gold Comics board. A nice little lot came in from an original owner. How easily it could have been a More Fun 52 or for that matter a King Comics 30. You can't imagine how happy I was to see these books without the requisite tears, pieces missing, or bug holes they so often have.
  8. That book and FC #4 never seem to be up for sale, and if they are, the price is in the $1000's
  9. Does it have the "Lucent" coffee ring as well? as a 2.0+ it may be worth having the cover cleaned
  10. Looks like the high grade ducks in question went for a pretty penny. $800 for an 8.5 and 1000 to 1200 for the 9.0 to 9.4's Thats not bad.
  11. Some ten centers I'll soon put up on ebay.
  12. I'd even suggest issue when it goes from 64 pages to 52(?) pages around issue 53 or so.
  13. Not to slam CGC for the millionth time, but they sure seem to have it against the Older Disney books. Here's a #13 on ebay that is wicked nice WDCS 13 on ebay And here is my issue which I also think is undergraded by about a point - it graded out as a 6.0 WDCS13 front WDCS13 back As compared to this All American 17 I was watching on ebay Something just doesn't seem quite right here. 2 or 3 points don't make a trend but it has that feel.
  14. Never mind - its up on comiclink under the first series a four color search didn't work. Nice book too, though it looks like it had some restoration removed. http://www.comiclink.com/./itemdetail.as...D&id=619684
  15. Hey, I saw a CGC Four Color #4 with Donald Duck for sale and now I can't find it. I thought it was an ebay sale but no luck in the history search. Anyone else see it out there in internet land.
  16. Lets let the X-men 24 book go - Please. Here's another book that perhaps was harshly graded. CGC 9.2 - can I get a witness.
  17. Politically incorrect as it depicts a slave type cover. Not over the top but Disney will never reprint it. Speaking of that, is there such a list as covers / stories that Disney won't reprint (or won't allow reprinted) I know this FC 379, WDCS 124 (ether) and the halloween Donald Four Color are on the "banned" list. Any others? There have to be a couple Africa stories which don't depict tribesmen in a flattering light. I'm curious is there is an actual list from Disney.
  18. Well, here's the issue before I sent it to CGC, maybe that'll help - tough crowd though.
  19. Just got back from CGC as a 9.4, lost Powerball but this was nice
  20. Target Comcs V2 #8 http://www.heritagecomics.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=817&Lot_No=4029&src=pr
  21. FC 379 - "Southern Hospitality" Pre dates 386 by a few months and has a prominent Scrooge cover and story no less plust it is not drawn by Barks. Besides the fact that it is fairly politically incorrect. FC 386 matches WDCS 138 so any WDCS stories with Scrooge such as 134 with the first beagle boys predate the 386. http://www.brucehamilton.com/anotherrainbow/scroogelist.html
