  1. Just one book. GS X-Men 1, picked this up on the boards a couple of months ago (go ahead and search) in package deal, passing it on with meat still on the bone. Sold to me as a 4.0 (R), "This copy has some color touch and a spine seal." See Pics next post. Price: $800 Rules: All books are returnable within 2 weeks of purchase for any reason. I try to give decent enough scans and pics to enable judgement of grade or detection of resto. Paypal, CK, or MO accepted. International buyers welcome if you can pay for shipping that includes tracking. If you are well known on the boards and international, your books will ship in a timely manner upon any form of payment. If you are international and unknown to me, you’ll either have to pay by CK or MO, or have a long-time ever-present boardie vouch for you directly to me. Shipping costs are exact costs. USPS Priority envelope or box (always box for slabs), well protected, is the default method, but other methods are possible. If shipping ends up being more than what you’re charged, I’ll refund the difference. No bidders of ill-repute, yadda yadda yadda.
  2. There’s a show Nov 11-12. It’s local so considering it. Anyone ever attend this Lancaster show, or any of the company’s other shows?
  3. Among the comic buying population, will IH 181 be 600x more popular than Cinderella 25? Even more specifically, Among the comic buying population with the money to purchase either book, will IH 181be 600x more popular than Cinderella 25?
  4. Among the comic-buying population, will they be buying IH 181 over Cinderella 25 at a 17149:28 ratio?
  5. At some point people will begin to priced out of these types of GA books, but IMO that is not now for most people. Is it more difficult/painful to buy these books now than 5 years ago? Of course. And as prices go up the buyer pool may be lower. But the issue is what is the book's current trajectory, influenced by supply and demand. The supply is so low and will likely remain low. We cannot be sure of future demand, but there seem to be more reasons demand will go up than down. There are 28 copies of Cinderella 25 on the census. Most who want one will consider almost any grade. I will bet that in 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years, the appreciation of Cinderella 25 in any grade will be better than that of any grade of IH 181.
  6. In the future, what do you think is going to increase more- the demand:supply ratio for Hulk 181, or for Cinderella 25? Hulk 181 is close to being “priced for perfection.” How much more popular can Wolverine get? There will probably be more people looking to divest than invest. Are the current owners of a Cinderella 13 likely to divest? Are those aware of it likely to forego pursuit? Is it likely that more people, once educated about the book, or tired of the lack of challenge in buying SA/BA/CA/MA, will enter the market for a Cinderella 25?
  7. Never heard of it or saw but seems like a good idea to me. I also see no value in slabbing books you are just going to keep, unless you like the aesthetic of the slab. I would simply be careful to choose a Mylar that fits book tight enough but doesn’t put too much strain on weak spots (e.g., a staple about to pop or book barely hanging on staple) but also fits snug enough in top loader so book doesn’t fly out.
  8. Strongly suggest call Doug at ComicLink. Very easy to work with them. He’ll tell you which books will go into which of the next 2 auctions. Your books (sounds like mostly SA) should do well, with good net based on low 10% fee. You can even get an advance. easy to work with typically good results no shenanigans
  9. First 5 throwing 100 MPH: 1. Walter Johnson (likely) 2. Smokey Joe Wood (likely) 3. Bob Feller 4. Ryne Duren 5. Nolan Ryan I also believe a few others prior to Ryan were probably capable, but didn’t in order to save their arm. Better to throw 300 IP than 100 MPH.
  10. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/bob-fellers-famous-motorc_b_797564 Ultimately clocked at 104 MPH. The motorcycle video is legendary.
