  1. Have to search my site for images of Remaindered Comics...think I posted some. Marty
  2. Remaindered comics are one of my favorite Golden Age topics. Right now I still have over 50 copies in my collection Some of the most popular include MYSTERY IN SPACE #1, DANGER TRAIL #1, TALES FROM THE CRYPT #20 (#1), HAUNT OF FEAR #16 and a CAPTAIN SCIENCE #4. Those were the days when I was buying for content. Marty
  3. Comic Books were everywhere! The really tough part was deciding on which one to purchase. Funds almost always consisted of 10 cent which limited my purchasing power. On a very rare occasion I would have 15 cents which is why I have a limited number of COMIC CAVALCADES (6) WORLD'S FINEST (8). Of course it was always easy to select a first issue or a new to me title but choosing from the regulars was a lot harder. I would guess that the cover is how I made most of my selections. ..but sometimes it was just impulse. FOUR COLORS and CLASSICS ILLUSTRATED took a little time to decide on...but CAPTAIN MARVEL ADVENTURES, DETECTIVE COMICS and BATMAN were always an easy choice.
  4. The Barber Shop is where I got to read FICTION HOUSE COMICS like WINGS, JUNGLE, JUMBO and RANGERS... that's why I have so few in my collection.
  5. Thank you for the kind words and yes I would be happy to discuss my collection.
  6. I had this book encapsulated for preservation and presentation.
  7. My first comic book was ALL-WINNERS #4 graded 3.0 by CGC (0199552001) and I would never let it go.
  8. I know my collection is not considered to be pedigreed but I do believe I have the oldest original owner collection on the boards having purchased my first comic book off the newsstand in 1942. I would like to know if there are any others out there.
  9. I know one such collection and I understand why...but at least they know it exists.
  10. Surprised to find this thread after all this time...happy to be able to post again. Marty
  11. Just one of those covers that made you pick it off the newsstand!
  12. I believe this is the first costumed superhero satire cover and story...
