  1. I don’t recall CGC ever being OK with the Ewert Micro-trimming. When that went down, he was “banned” pretty quickly. As far as I know, that was never allowed/endorsed by CGC. The spine-roll stuff got dealt with quickly as well. That fell into that (very grey) pressing area. I’m not sure if they endorsed that or if people were sneaking it by. Not familiar with the cover thing you’re referencing. Do you mean leaf-casting? I know they never graded those full on facsimile covers. I think all 3 of those are very different situations than the BF acetate “variants
  2. Definitely. They aren’t going to ban BF or Crain. How could they? CGC knew beforehand what was going on and they allowed it. ”Hey guys, we know we told you it was ok and we worked with you on it. Now it’s not ok, so we’ve got to ban you.”
  3. Do you have an internship program?
  4. In addition to CGC "standing behind" these books, another statement Direct from CGC (if Rob asks): transparency on how CGC arrived at our method of certifying Clayton Crain’s Ultimate Fallout comics with the attached acetate covers. For us, this was an unprecedented item to grade. After Mr. Crain spoke with us prior to C2E2, the rules we applied to his books: The additional cover had to be created by an established artist in the industry. The comic to which the cover was attached had to contain a cover by that same artist. A copy of the comic with the attached cover had to be submitted to us for inspection prior to certifying any copies.
  5. I still haven't watched Part 2 of S4. My 14yr old daughter is a huge fan of the show. I do want to thank the creators for somehow getting Master of Puppets on to her playlist. You know how many times I tried to get her to listen to a Metallica song (any of them!) over the years and got stonewalled? Now, I get to hear Master anytime we're in the car together. However, I am still not "cool" and my air guitar is "lame".
  6. I used to own a DV page and it was not affixed to anything. As others have said, someone must've done that themself. Mitch would be able to answer/confirm that. I can't recall his Forum ID. Can someone tag him in this thread?
  7. Yep. RL has no idea what he's talking about. They weren't deceived. They were implicit in this fiasco.
  8. That’s really cool! There is an Aliens thread in the Copper Forum. Please post this there too so people that don’t slum over here on CG will see it as well.
  9. Nice little review. When I was watching that episode I thought that Death was going to say her famous line when Just a wonderful episode.
  10. Total opposite reaction/thoughts for me. I'm a huge fan of the source material and I have loved the show. It's hit all the right notes for me and I think it's a wonderful recreation of the series and has far exceeded my expectation. They nailed the tone perfectly. After I saw the trailer(s), I had apprehension about some of the casting choices (Lucifer, Death especially). I thought Lucifer needed to be "male" and wasn't too keen on the androgynous take, but it worked just fine for the show. Death ended up being perfectly cast and the actress just nailed it. I thought Morpheus looked a little younger than I would have cast him, but he's been fantastic. As I've said in the other threads, everything about it has worked for me.
  11. I don’t feel bad for BF as they brought this on themselves, but I think they are taking the brunt of all this when that “burden” should be shared. BF and CGC had some sort of agreement/understanding in place prior to this disaster. BF didn’t try and sneak something by CGC here (like Ewert did way back when). CGC approved this BS. BF has become the fall guy here. They are taking it in the keister and CGC will get off Scott-free (see what I did there?). The only way that CGC will change their current stance (which is, more or less, “we’ve heard your complaints, eff you”) is if the submission train takes a big hit. And that ain’t going to happen. They’ll gladly continue to work back room deals and let the retailer take the heat.
  12. Exactly. We've been thru similar dances before. Outrage, CGC (poor) response, more outrage, CGC silence, more outrage. And on to the next scandal. They've given their response and doubled-down on it. I doubt anything will happen. Books will keep getting submitted, CGC books will still garner a premium over other companies. Business as usual. CGC haven't given an eff about "collectors" or the "hobby" since Steve left all those years ago.
  13. Episode 6 was perfect. Issue 13 is one of my absolute favorite comic books of all time. It was a pleasure to see it come to life.
  14. They didn't skimp on the FX budget. They are pretty good. As others have said, it's not perfect but it's nowhere near crap. I would have preferred they didn't CGI the Predator itself, but that's what all the movies do now.
  15. When I got back into collecting (back in 2001), I looked for that at every show but never found one. Haven't looked for one in awhile now.
