  1. Supposedly rare. However, the kite fun books were distributed in grammar school to young students. My brothers and I have a few. The Donald Duck book was distributed before I was born, but I did purchase a SCE version from a board member. I have seen a few at conventions, but they were out of my price range. Congratulations!
  2. All I have is a ratty copy of Cap 3. I received this in the mail today.
  3. Nice books. Hope to see you again at NYCC this year. Tony, I am planning on attending NYCC. I already paid for my apartment and flight. Will be leaving for Cooperstown on Sunday morning.
  4. Here are my three raw copies. I apologize for the poor picture. I had to take the smartphone photo without flash and lights on to avoid reflection on the comics. Unfortunately, the sun just set. Hope to meet my fellow collectors at Wizard Chicago this year. I met sqeggs last year in New York City and discovered that we both graduated from the same high school and college (UC Berkeley).
  5. Tony, $1225 for Jetta 6 is more than I paid for my Cap 3. I believe that you guys are better at digging up rare comics than I.
  6. Ouch! I was lucky enough to obtain 143ksk's under copy four years ago. Completing a mere three issue Jetta set is extremely tough. Took me several years to obtain the three issues. Was some Jetta OA on heritage several years ago. The seller is located in Italy. Poste italiane took three months to deliver a letter to me from Rome.
  7. I took a shortcut and pulled pictures off wikipedia. Thanks for sharing your scans. My copy of Tales of the Incredible is stored at a different location. I remember these paperbacks from my childhood and soon afterwards the Batman Signet reprints. Back then, 50 cents was a small fortune.
  8. There were five paperbacks printed in the sixties with EC reprints. The two above and these three. The covers to the last two were painted by Frazetta.
  9. For precode horror, this Reed Crandall story from Out of the Shadows #9 ranks among my favorites.
  10. Looks like an exceptional copy. The auction had four bidders at $721 and over and a fifth bidder at $695. Luckily, I complete the My Friend Irma run in 2013 and found the last issue I needed for $5.
  11. According to The Art of Dan DeCarlo, by Bill Morrison, "Dan's first assignment was for Jeanie, one of Timely's seemingly endless line of teenage humor books." He drew like the other Timely staff and had not developed his unique cartoon style.
  12. I can't believe a FN- copy of Hedy of Hollywood #36 went for $611. I am glad that I already have a copy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hedy-of-Hollywood-36-Rare-Dan-DeCarlo-Art-Millie-Marvel-Timely-Teen-1950-FN-/141546355271?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item20f4d1fa47

  15. Michael sent the book right away. Book was extremely well packed with Masonite boards and painter's blue tape to make it easier for me to remove the book. Additionally, Michael placed the bagged comic book within a magazine bag. Thanks for the super duper transaction.
  16. Harley? Yep Hi Tony, An absolute pleasure to meet you in person and letting me admire your SS4.

  21. Do any of my fellow boardies have a copy of this book in Swedish or German on Carl Barks oil paintings? I have the Another Rainbow book, but was curious about this book,"Carl Barks - Die Ölgemälde," in German. I did a search on the forums, but could not find anything.
